{"product_id":"1-polvere-cutanea1-flacone-100-g","title":"MENTHOL SELLA \"1% SKIN POWDER\" 1 BOTTLE 100 G\"","description":"\u003cb\u003eName\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eMenthol Sella 1% skin powder\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat it is and what it is used for\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The medicine is indicated in the symptomatic treatment of skin rashes due to exanthematous diseases, irritation, including from rubbing, itching and burning in case of insect bites, sunburn and burns.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat you need to know before taking the medicine\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.\u003cbr\u003e Children up to 30 months of age. \u003cbr\u003eChildren with a history of epilepsy or febrile seizures.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWarnings and precautions\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e This product contains terpene derivatives which, in excessive doses, can cause neurological disorders such as convulsions in infants and children.\u003cbr\u003e Treatment should not be prolonged for more than 3 days due to the risks associated with the accumulation of terpene derivatives, such as camphor, cineole, niaouli, wild thyme, terpineol, terpin, citral, menthol and essential oils of pine needles, eucalyptus and turpentine (due to their lipophilic properties, the rate of metabolism and disposal is unknown) in the tissues and brain, in particular neuropsychological disorders.\u003cbr\u003e A dose higher than the recommended one should not be used to avoid a higher risk of adverse reactions to the medicinal product and disorders associated with overdose (see section Overdose). \u003cbr\u003eThe medicine must be used only for external use; it must not be inhaled and must not be applied to eyes and mucous membranes. It must not be applied to open wounds or surgical gloves. Menthol Sella 1% cutaneous powder must be used with caution in children up to 6 years of age.\u003cbr\u003e Routine use in daily hygiene of the child is not recommended as inhalation can cause lung irritation with the risk of serious breathing difficulties and death.\u003cbr\u003e If it is suspected that the child has inhaled Sella menthol, respiratory function must be carefully monitored because the onset of symptoms may be delayed by several hours.\u003cbr\u003e In neonates with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency exposed to menthol, haemolysis and kernicterus may occur.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cu\u003eImportant information about some of the excipients\u003c\/u\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cem\u003eTalc\u003c\/em\u003e \u003cbr\u003eOveruse of nasally administered medications containing talc as an excipient has been reported to cause pulmonary granulomas.\u003cbr\u003e Although talc does not cause acute toxicity, fatal cases have been reported following acute exposure to talc.\u003cbr\u003e Inhalation of the dust has caused death, mainly in infants.\u003cbr\u003e Inhalation of talc causes irritation of the respiratory tract, coughing, shortness of breath, sneezing, vomiting and cyanosis. The onset of these symptoms may occur within 12-24 hours.\u003cbr\u003e Acute exposure may cause permanent lung effects.\u003cbr\u003e Intense and prolonged exposure to talc can cause pneumoconiosis.\u003cbr\u003e When injected intravenously it can cause retinopathy, emboli and pulmonary hypertension.\u003cbr\u003e Applying talc to open wounds can cause severe granulomatous reactions.\u003cbr\u003e Talc is a strong eye irritant and can cause symblepharon, in some cases requiring surgical correction.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e\u003cb\u003ePossible side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Due to the presence of menthol and in case of non-compliance with the recommended doses, there may be a risk of convulsions in children and infants.\u003cbr\u003e Like all medicines, Mentolo Sella 1% cutaneous powder can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.\u003cbr\u003e The following are the side effects of menthol. There is insufficient data to determine the frequency of the listed effects.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cem\u003eSkin and subcutaneous tissue disorders\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Contact dermatitis.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cem\u003eSystemic disorders and conditions related to the administration site\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Burns at the application site.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Cases of umbilical granulomas due to contamination of the umbilical cord residue with talc powder have been reported. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cem\u003eFollowing the instructions in the leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
