These medicines work by slowing down or preventing the growth of bacteria.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e This medicine is indicated in adults and children over 3 years of age for:\u003cbr\u003e - disinfect minor burns and irritated or chapped areas of skin;\u003cbr\u003e - reduce swelling caused by a build-up of blood (decongestant);\u003cbr\u003e - treat an inflammatory skin disease (acne).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Contact your doctor if you notice no improvement or if you notice worsening of symptoms after a few days.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat you need to know before taking the medicine\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eDo not use BORIC ACID MARCO VITI\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e - if you are allergic to boric acid or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);\u003cbr\u003e - if you have very extensive skin lesions.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eThis medicine should not be used in children under 3 years of age (See section \u003cb\u003e“Children”\u003c\/b\u003e ).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWarnings and precautions\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using BORIC ACID MARCO VITI.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e This medicine should not be applied to the eyes.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Keep this medicine out of the reach of children as it can cause death if swallowed.\u003cbr\u003e (See section \u003cb\u003e“If you use more MARCO VITI BORIC ACID than you should”\u003c\/b\u003e )\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Avoid applying the product for prolonged periods of time and at excessive doses, on very large areas of skin or on wounds (damaged skin), as toxic effects may occur (See the paragraph \u003cb\u003e“Possible side effects”\u003c\/b\u003e ).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eChildren\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The use of this medicine is contraindicated in children under 3 years of age.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003ePossible side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eFollowing inappropriate use of the medicine (systemic route) or application of boric acid on wounds and lesions and after prolonged use, the following undesirable effects may occur:\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eFrequency not known\u003c\/b\u003e (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data)\u003cbr\u003e - skin irritations (dermatitis, rashes), hair loss (alopecia);\u003cbr\u003e - nausea, vomiting, diarrhea;\u003cbr\u003e - loss of appetite (anorexia);\u003cbr\u003e - menstrual cycle disorders;\u003cbr\u003e - reduction in the number of red blood cells in the blood (anemia);\u003cbr\u003e - weakness;\u003cbr\u003e - confusion;\u003cbr\u003e - convulsions.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eReporting of side effects\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003eIf you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
