{"product_id":"betadine-gel-30-g-10","title":"BETADINE 10% GEL TUBE 30 G","description":"\u003cb\u003eName\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eBETADINE 10% Gel\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Povidone-iodine\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat is it and what is it used for?\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Betadine 10% Gel contains povidone-iodine, a disinfectant for local use.\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eBetadine 10% Gel is indicated for the disinfection of minor skin lesions such as small superficial wounds and minor pressure sores (skin lesions affecting parts of the body subjected to pressure for prolonged periods) in \u003cb\u003eadults and children over 2 years of age\u003c\/b\u003e .\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat you need to know before taking the medicine\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eDo not use Betadine 10% Gel:\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e - if you are allergic to povidone-iodine, or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);\u003cbr\u003e - if you suffer from thyroid disorders;\u003cbr\u003e - before, during and after administration of radioactive iodine (see section \"Other medicines and Betadine\");\u003cbr\u003e - if you are using products containing mercury (see section \"Other medicines and Betadine\");\u003cbr\u003e - if the child is under 2 years old.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWarnings and precautions\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Betadine 10% Gel. \u003cbr\u003eBetadine 10% Gel is for \u003cb\u003eexternal use\u003c\/b\u003e only and should not be applied to severely broken skin or large areas.\u003cbr\u003e Accidental ingestion or inhalation of some disinfectants can have serious, sometimes fatal, consequences.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eAvoid\u003c\/b\u003e contact with \u003cb\u003eeyes\u003c\/b\u003e .\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Do not use this medicine for prolonged treatments: the use of topical products, especially if prolonged, can cause allergic reactions (see section \"Possible side effects\"). In this case, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor who will initiate the appropriate therapy.\u003cbr\u003e Particular caution should be used in patients with renal insufficiency who require regular applications of Betadine to broken skin.\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eTalk to your doctor if you have thyroid problems (a gland located at the base of the neck). In this case, your doctor may order specific tests (including a scan) to check your thyroid function.
