It belongs to the group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eDiclofenac Teva is used in short-term treatment for the local symptomatic relief of acute pain associated with muscle strains, sprains or bruises of the arms and legs following non-penetrating trauma.\u003cbr\u003e For cutaneous use only.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat you need to know before taking the medicine\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eDo not use Diclofenac Teva\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e - If you are allergic to diclofenac, propylene glycol, butylhydroxytoluene or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).\u003cbr\u003e - If you are allergic to any other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs, e.g. acetylsalicylic acid, ibuprofen).\u003cbr\u003e - If you have experienced asthma, swelling of the skin or swelling and irritation inside the nose after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs.\u003cbr\u003e - If you suffer from active peptic ulcer.\u003cbr\u003e - On damaged skin (e.g. skin abrasions, cuts, burns), infected or with eczema.\u003cbr\u003e - During the last three months of pregnancy.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWarnings and precautions\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003eTalk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Diclofenac Teva\u003cbr\u003e - If you suffer or have suffered in the past from bronchial asthma or allergies, you may experience a cramp in the bronchi (bronchospasm), which manifests itself with difficulty in breathing.\u003cbr\u003e - If a skin rash appears; remove the medicated plaster immediately and stop treatment.\u003cbr\u003e - If you suffer from kidney, heart or liver problems or if you suffer or have suffered in the past from gastrointestinal ulcers, intestinal inflammation or a tendency to bleed.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Undesirable effects may be minimised by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration of treatment.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e IMPORTANT Precautions:\u003cbr\u003e - If symptoms persist for more than 3 days you should contact your doctor.\u003cbr\u003e - Do not use the medicated plaster on the eyes or mucous membranes and avoid contact with these parts.\u003cbr\u003e - The product should only be applied to intact, healthy skin and should not be kept on while bathing or showering.\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eAvoid exposing the treated area to direct sunlight or sunlamps for approximately one day after removal of Diclofenac Teva, in order to reduce the risk of sensitivity to light.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Do not use other medicines containing diclofenac or other NSAIDs at the same time, either topically or systemically.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003ePossible side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eIf the following symptoms appear, tell your doctor immediately and stop using the patch:\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e sudden itchy skin rash (hives); swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, face, lips, mouth, or throat; difficulty breathing; low blood pressure or weakness.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eThe following side effects may occur:\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003e\u003cb\u003eCommon (may affect up to 1 in 100 people):\u003c\/b\u003e application site reactions, rash, eczema, redness of the skin, dermatitis (including allergic dermatitis and contact dermatitis), swelling of the skin, itching and burning sensations.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eUncommon (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people):\u003c\/b\u003e generalised skin rash, hypersensitivity reactions (including hives), swelling of the mucous membranes, generalised excessive allergic reaction.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eRare (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):\u003c\/b\u003e bullous dermatitis, dry skin.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eVery rare (may affect less than 1 in 10,000 people):\u003c\/b\u003e asthma attack, severe eczema, pustular rash, ulcerative skin rash, photosensitivity reaction.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eFrequency not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data):\u003c\/b\u003e application site haematoma.\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eThe absorption of diclofenac into the body through the skin is very low and the concentration of diclofenac in the blood is also very low compared to the concentration of the active substance in the blood after oral intake. Therefore, the probability of systemic side effects (such as gastrointestinal, liver or kidney disorders, bronchospasm) is very low after topical application compared to the frequency of side effects associated with oral use of diclofenac.
