Your doctor may do blood tests to check the hemoglobin in your blood.\u003cbr\u003e Treatment should not exceed 3 months due to the risk of involuntary muscle spasms (tardive dyskinesia).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eChildren and adolescents\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Maalox Nausea should not be taken by children and adolescents under 16 years of age.\u003cbr\u003e The use of the medicine in adolescents aged between 16 and 18 years is not recommended.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003ePossible side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eStop treatment and talk to your doctor or pharmacist immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms while taking this medicine:\u003cbr\u003e - uncontrollable movements (often involving the head or neck). These may occur in children or young adults, particularly if high doses are used. These symptoms usually occur at the beginning of treatment and may occur after a single administration. The movements disappear if appropriately treated;\u003cbr\u003e - high fever, high blood pressure, seizures, sweating, saliva production. These may be signs of a disorder called neuroleptic malignant syndrome;\u003cbr\u003e - itching or skin problems, swelling of the face, lips or throat, difficulty breathing.
