An organic disorder should be excluded before starting treatment. Macrogol Aurobindo should remain a temporary adjunct to healthy lifestyle and dietary measures for constipation, with a maximum course of treatment of 3 months in children. If symptoms persist despite associated dietary measures, an underlying cause should be suspected and treated.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eDosage\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003e\u003cu\u003eOral use.\u003c\/u\u003e \u003cu\u003eDosage\u003c\/u\u003e : 1 to 2 sachets (10-20 g) per day, preferably taken as a single dose in the morning. The daily dose should be adjusted according to clinical effects and may vary from one sachet every other day (especially in children) up to 2 sachets per day. The effect of macrogol occurs within 24-48 hours after administration. \u003ci\u003ePaediatric population\u003c\/i\u003e : In children, treatment should not exceed 3 months due to the lack of clinical data in treatment lasting more than 3 months. The regularisation of intestinal motility induced by treatment will be maintained through lifestyle and dietary measures. \u003cu\u003eMethod of administration\u003c\/u\u003e : Each sachet should be dissolved in approximately 50 ml of water just before use.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eConservation\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e This medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003ePregnancy and breastfeeding\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003e\u003cu\u003ePregnancy\u003c\/u\u003e : Animal studies do not indicate direct or indirect harmful effects with respect to reproductive toxicity, see section 5.3. Data from the use of macrogol 4000 in pregnant women are limited (less than 300 pregnancy outcomes). No effects during pregnancy are anticipated, since systemic exposure to macrogol is negligible. Macrogol can be used during pregnancy. \u003cu\u003eBreast-feeding\u003c\/u\u003e : There are no data on the excretion of macrogol in human milk. No effects on the breast-fed newborn\/infants are anticipated, since systemic exposure to macrogol 4000 in breast-feeding women is negligible (see section 5.2).
