{"product_id":"micotef-2-gel-orale1-tubo-da-40-g","title":"MICOTEF 2% ORAL GEL 1 TUBE OF 40 G","description":"\u003cb\u003eName\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eMICOTEF 2% oral gel\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Miconazole\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat it is and what it is used for\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e MICOTEF oral gel is an anti-infective medicine and belongs to the category of dental drugs.\u003cbr\u003e It is indicated for the treatment of oropharyngeal candidiasis (Candida infection of the mouth and pharynx): stomatitis and thrush.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat you need to know before taking the medicine\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eDo not take MICOTEF oral gel:\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e • If you are allergic to the active substance or other similar antifungal medicines or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).\u003cbr\u003e • In infants less than 6 months of age or in whom swallowing is not yet sufficiently developed\u003cbr\u003e • In patients with liver disease\u003cbr\u003e • In patients receiving concomitant other drugs metabolised by the same pathway, in particular:\u003cbr\u003e - Mizolastine, pimozide, quinidine, sertindole\u003cbr\u003e - Ergot alkaloids \u003cbr\u003e- HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors such as simvastatin and lovastatin\u003cbr\u003e - Triazolam and midazolam.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWarnings and precautions\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e In case of concomitant use of MICOTEF oral gel and oral anticoagulant drugs, such as warfarin, the anticoagulant effect should be carefully monitored.\u003cbr\u003e Particular care should be taken when administering MICOTEF oral gel to infants over 6 months of age and children to avoid the gel blocking the throat. For this reason, the gel should not be applied to the throat and it is advisable to divide each dose into smaller portions and monitor the patient to avoid possible choking.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003ePossible side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Like all medicines, Micotef oral gel can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.\u003cbr\u003e If ingested, diarrhoea may occur during long-term treatment. Rare occurrence of nausea, headache and skin rashes. \u003cbr\u003eIf any of the following side effects occur, do not use Micotef and contact your doctor immediately:\u003cbr\u003e • swelling of the face, tongue or throat; difficulty swallowing; hives and difficulty breathing (angioedema, anaphylactic reaction).\u003cbr\u003e Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any of the following side effects:\u003cbr\u003e not known:\u003cbr\u003e • skin rash with pus-filled blisters (acute generalised exanthematous pustulosis).\u003cbr\u003e Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eReporting of side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
