Dimenhydrinate has an antiemetic action, that is, it prevents nausea and vomiting.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Travelgum is used in adults and children over 4 years of age to treat motion sickness, a condition that you\/your child may experience with nausea and vomiting when travelling by car, sea, plane or train.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat you need to know before taking the medicine\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eDo not take\/give Travelgum to your child\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e - if you and\/or the child are allergic to dimenhydrinate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).\u003cbr\u003e - if you and\/or the child are allergic to antihistamines (a group of medicines similar to dimenhydrinate). \u003cbr\u003e- if you and\/or your child suffer from \u003cu\u003ephenylketonuria (a hereditary disease involving the accumulation in the blood of a substance called phenylalanine\u003c\/u\u003e , which causes particular disorders).\u003cbr\u003e - if the child is under 4 years old.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, see section “Pregnancy and breast-feeding”.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWarnings and precautions\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking\/giving Travelgum to your child.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Tell your doctor:\u003cbr\u003e - if you and\/or your child suffer from an eye disease (glaucoma);\u003cbr\u003e - if you suffer from an enlarged prostate (prostatic hypertrophy);\u003cbr\u003e - if you\/the child suffers from other diseases that cause a disturbance in the ability to urinate (urinary retention);\u003cbr\u003e - if you and\/or your child suffer from intestinal obstruction;\u003cbr\u003e - if you and\/or your child suffer from breathing problems (bronchial asthma);\u003cbr\u003e - if you and\/or your child suffer from convulsions (epilepsy).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eChildren and adolescents\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003eTravelgum can be used in children over 4 years of age.\u003cbr\u003e This medicine may cause drowsiness.
