{"product_id":"zerinolflu-compresse-effervescenti-20-compresse","title":"ZERINOLFLU EFFERVESCENT TABLETS 20 TABLETS","description":"\u003cb\u003eName\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eZerinolflu effervescent tablets\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat it is and what it is used for\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003eZerinolflu is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer) for oral use that contains the active ingredients paracetamol, chlorphenamine maleate and sodium ascorbate (vitamin C).\u003cbr\u003e Zerinolflu is used to treat the symptoms of flu and colds in adults.\u003cbr\u003e Contact your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 3 days.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat you need to know before taking the medicine\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eDo not take Zerinolflu\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e - if you are allergic to paracetamol or chlorphenamine maleate or sodium ascorbate (vitamin C) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6) or to other antihistamines (substances similar to chlorphenamine, i.e. medicines used to treat allergies);\u003cbr\u003e - during pregnancy and breastfeeding;\u003cbr\u003e - if you suffer from severe haemolytic anaemia (a disease caused by the destruction of red blood cells); \u003cbr\u003e- if you have a deficiency of a certain enzyme called glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (the lack of which can cause haemolytic anaemia);\u003cbr\u003e - if you suffer from severe hepatocellular insufficiency (disease associated with alteration of liver function);\u003cbr\u003e - if you suffer from glaucoma (an eye disease often associated with increased fluid pressure within the eye);\u003cbr\u003e - in case of prostatic hypertrophy (disease characterized by an increase in the volume of the prostate);\u003cbr\u003e - in case of bladder neck obstruction (urinary bladder obstruction);\u003cbr\u003e - in case of pyloric, duodenal and other gastrointestinal tract stenosis (gastrointestinal diseases characterized by narrowing of specific parts of the digestive tract);\u003cbr\u003e - in case of urogenital stenosis (narrowing of the urinary and reproductive organs); \u003cbr\u003e- if you are or have been treated in the previous two weeks with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) (see section \"Other medicines and Zerinolflu\").\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWarnings and precautions\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Zerinolflu.\u003cbr\u003e - In case of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency (may lead to hemolytic anemia)\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e You should not take this medicine for more than 3 consecutive days without consulting your doctor.\u003cbr\u003e After a short period of treatment without appreciable results, consult your doctor. If the fever persists for more than three days, or if the symptoms do not improve or new symptoms appear within three days, or are accompanied by high fever, exanthema (skin rashes accompanied by redness of the skin), excessive amount of mucus and persistent cough, consult your doctor who will establish the correct diagnosis.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eParacetamol\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003eDuring treatment with paracetamol, before taking any other medicine, you must check that it does not contain paracetamol, since if paracetamol is taken in high doses, serious side effects may occur (see also the paragraph \"If you take more Zerinolflu than you should\").\u003cbr\u003e Also, before combining any other medicine, contact your doctor (see also the paragraphs \"Other medicines and Zerinolflu\").\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e High or prolonged doses of the product can cause a high-risk hepatopathy (liver disease) for you (see also the paragraph \"If you take more Zerinolflu than you should\") and even serious alterations to the kidneys and blood.\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eSerious skin reactions: Life-threatening skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP), fixed drug eruption and exfoliative dermatitis have been reported with the use of paracetamol. If symptoms or signs of these serious skin reactions occur (e.g. progressive skin redness associated with blisters or mucosal lesions), stop treatment with Zerinolflu immediately and contact the nearest hospital.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e During treatment with Zerinolflu, tell your doctor immediately if:\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eIf you have serious illnesses, including severe kidney failure or sepsis (when bacteria and their toxins circulate in the blood causing organ damage) or malnutrition, chronic alcoholism or if you are also taking flucloxacillin (an antibiotic). A serious condition called metabolic acidosis (an abnormality of the blood and fluids) has been reported in patients in these situations when paracetamol is used at regular doses over a long period or when paracetamol is taken in combination with flucloxacillin. Symptoms of metabolic acidosis may include: severe breathing difficulties with rapid deep breathing, drowsiness, nausea and vomiting.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Use caution with Zerinolflu if you are allergic to aspirin and\/or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eSince serious allergic reactions to paracetamol have been observed (e.g. anaphylactic shock, see also the section \"Possible side effects\"), at the first signs of an allergic reaction following the use of Zerinolflu, stop treatment and consult your doctor.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Zerinolflu should be used with caution and after medical evaluation in cases of chronic alcoholism, excessive alcohol intake (3 or more alcoholic drinks per day), eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, cachexia, chronic malnutrition), dehydration, decreased circulating blood volume (hypovolemia), liver diseases such as mild to moderate liver failure and Gilbert's syndrome, severe renal failure.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eChlorphenamine Maleate\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003eZerinolflu contains an antihistamine (chlorphenamine). At the doses normally taken, antihistamines have side effects that vary greatly from person to person and from drug to drug and must be used with caution in people who suffer from high blood pressure, heart disease or thyroid disease. The most frequent side effect is sedation (physical and mental relaxation) which may manifest itself with drowsiness (see also the paragraphs \"Driving and using machines\" and \"Side effects\"). Children and the elderly are more exposed to this type of side effect.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Chlorphenamine may induce photosensitivity (allergic skin reaction following exposure to light).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eSodium ascorbate\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003eSodium ascorbate (vitamin C) should be used with caution if you suffer, or have suffered in the past, from nephrolithiasis (kidney stones) and if you have a glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (see \"Do not take Zerinolflu\"), or if you suffer from blood diseases such as haemochromatosis, thalassaemia or sideroblastic anaemia which involve an accumulation of iron in the body.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003ePatients with renal or hepatic (liver) insufficiency:\u003c\/b\u003e If you have renal insufficiency or mild-moderate liver insufficiency, use this medicine with caution.\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003e\u003cb\u003eElderly:\u003c\/b\u003e Due to their greater sensitivity to the drug, the elderly should adhere to the indicated dosages. In elderly patients treated with antihistamines, effects such as dizziness, sedation, confusion and hypotension may occur with greater probability. Elderly patients are particularly sensitive to the anticholinergic side effects of antihistamines such as dry mouth and urinary retention (especially in men).\u003cbr\u003e Elderly patients with mental disorders (such as confusional state, delirium, dementia, impairment of cognitive abilities such as memory and reasoning) should avoid the use of Zerinolflu due to adverse effects on the central nervous system.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003ePossible side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. \u003cbr\u003eFor the following side effects, the frequency cannot be established based on the available data (frequency not known).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Serious condition which can make the blood more acidic (called metabolic acidosis), in patients with a serious illness who use paracetamol (see section 2).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e If you experience any of the following symptoms, \u003cb\u003eSTOP using Zerinolflu immediately\u003c\/b\u003e and contact your doctor or the nearest hospital where you will be given appropriate and specific treatment:\u003cbr\u003e - serious skin reactions manifested by skin rash, some of them fatal (including Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis);\u003cbr\u003e - allergic reactions such as:\u003cbr\u003e - angioedema (sudden swelling of the skin or mucous membranes);\u003cbr\u003e - laryngeal edema (swelling of the larynx);\u003cbr\u003e - anaphylactic shock (severe allergic reaction).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Side effects affecting the \u003cb\u003eblood\u003c\/b\u003e : \u003cbr\u003e- thrombocytopenia (reduction in the number of platelets in the blood);\u003cbr\u003e - neutropenia (reduction in the number of neutrophils in the blood);\u003cbr\u003e - leukopenia (reduction in the number of white blood cells in the blood);\u003cbr\u003e - hemolytic anemia (decrease in the amount of hemoglobin and red blood cells);\u003cbr\u003e - agranulocytosis (reduction in the number of granulocytes in the blood);\u003cbr\u003e - pancytopenia (reduction in the number of all cells in the blood);\u003cbr\u003e - excess acid in the blood due to the presence of too much pyroglutamic acid resulting from low levels of glutathione.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eNervous system\u003c\/b\u003e disorders such as:\u003cbr\u003e sedation;\u003cbr\u003e drowsiness;\u003cbr\u003e asthenia (weakness);\u003cbr\u003e vertigo (dizziness);\u003cbr\u003e headache;\u003cbr\u003e inability to concentrate;\u003cbr\u003e abnormal coordination.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eSkin reactions\u003c\/b\u003e of various types and severity have been reported with the use of paracetamol, including cases of:\u003cbr\u003e - rash (skin eruption);\u003cbr\u003e - urticaria (appearance of red spots on the skin); \u003cbr\u003e- serious skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP), fixed drug eruption and exfoliative dermatitis;\u003cbr\u003e - photosensitization (allergic skin reaction following exposure to light).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Other side effects may include:\u003cbr\u003e - blurred vision;\u003cbr\u003e - thickening of bronchial secretions (thicker mucus), bronchospasm (temporary narrowing of the airways;\u003cbr\u003e - dry mouth, nausea, \u003cb\u003egastrointestinal\u003c\/b\u003e disturbances;\u003cbr\u003e - alterations in \u003cb\u003eliver\u003c\/b\u003e function and hepatitis (liver inflammation);\u003cbr\u003e - \u003cb\u003ekidney\u003c\/b\u003e changes: acute renal failure (reduction of kidney function), interstitial nephritis (inflammation of the kidneys), hematuria (presence of blood in the urine), anuria (absence of urine), urinary retention (difficulty in passing urine);\u003cbr\u003e - \u003cb\u003epsychiatric\u003c\/b\u003e disorders: confusion, nightmares, depression; \u003cbr\u003e- \u003cb\u003eheart\u003c\/b\u003e changes: tachycardia (increased heart rate), palpitations (awareness of the heartbeat), hypotension (reduction of blood pressure);\u003cbr\u003e - \u003cb\u003eear\u003c\/b\u003e disorder: tinnitus.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eReporting of side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
