What it is and what it is used for
Arvenum is a medicine containing a micronized purified flavonoid fraction, which protects the veins and capillaries.
Arvenum is indicated in the treatment of:
• venous insufficiency of the lower limbs (which can manifest itself for example with swelling, a sensation of heaviness, pain or cramps in the legs and feet) and haemorrhoids (veins in the anal region);
• capillary fragility (easy breakage of capillaries which become visible on the skin and can cause spots and bruises);
• acute hemorrhoidal crisis (sudden onset of bleeding due to rupture of the hemorrhoids, pain and itching in the anal region).
Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after one week of treatment.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not take Arvenum
if you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);

Children and adolescents
There are no data available to support the use of this medicinal product in children and adolescents.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Side effects, which may occur with the frequency described below, include:
Common (affects 1 to 10 users in 100):
diarrhea, difficult digestion (dyspepsia), nausea, vomiting.
Uncommon (affects 1 to 10 patients in 1,000):
colitis.
Rare (affects 1 to 10 users in 10,000):
skin redness (rash), itching, hives, dizziness, headache, malaise.
Not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data):
abdominal pain, swelling of the face, lips, eyelids (oedema), rapid swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat which may lead to difficulty in breathing (Quincke's oedema), abnormal decrease in platelets (thrombocytopenia).
Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
