Traumatic, allergic and dysmetabolic stimuli (e.g. diabetes) also contribute to the onset of irritation\/inflammatory phenomena in the male genital area. \u003cbr\u003eThere is also a close correlation between lower urinary tract symptoms, typical of prostate and bladder diseases, and the onset of erythema, itching, edema, pain and burning at the level of the glans penis and prepuce. Lower urinary tract symptoms include the set of urinary disorders including: increased frequency and urgency of urination, incontinence and terminal dribbling. Prolonged and\/or frequent contact of urine with the skin and balanopreputial mucosa predisposes the tissues to irritation and inflammation, especially in diabetic, immunosuppressed and elderly subjects.\u003cbr\u003e Whatever the inducing stimulus, irritation and chronic inflammation of the male genital area lead to an alteration of the defensive properties of the mucocutaneous barrier, facilitating the implantation of pathogens that cause genital infections.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eHow to use\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003eApply a thin layer of gel to the affected area twice a day until symptoms remit or otherwise according to medical advice.
