Name
Broxo Din 200 mg/100 g gingival gel
chlorhexidine digluconate
What it is and what it is used for
Broxo Din is a disinfectant of the oral mucosa, containing chlorhexidine digluconate which is an antibacterial substance.
Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a few days.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use Broxo Din
- if you are allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Warnings and precautions
• Do not use for prolonged treatments; consult your doctor or dentist if you do not notice improvements after a few days of treatment.
• The use, especially if prolonged, of products for local (topical) use can give rise to sensitization phenomena (excessive reaction of the organism to foreign substances with which it has come into contact). In this case, stop the treatment and consult your doctor to start an appropriate therapy.
• If, following use of the product, pain, swelling or irritation of the mouth should arise, stop treatment and contact your doctor or dentist.
• In the initial stages of treatment, changes in taste, numbness or burning of the tongue may occur. These are usually temporary effects that resolve with use of the product. If they persist, consult your doctor or dentist.
• The product is for external use only and therefore should not be ingested.
• Avoid contact with eyes or ears: if the product comes into contact with your eyes or ears, wash immediately with water.
• If you experience symptoms such as a rash, swelling of the lips, tongue, throat or face, or difficulty breathing (indicating a serious allergic reaction), stop using the product and seek medical advice immediately. Also seek medical advice if you have had such problems in the past.
• Chlorhexidine gluconate may cause superficial staining of the tongue, teeth, and materials used in dentistry (e.g., fillings and dentures).
To prevent the appearance of staining, it is important to take care of daily oral hygiene using a toothbrush, toothpaste and dental floss. It may be useful to rinse with water between one treatment and another with Broxo Din or in any case during the day.
The stain can be removed with professional cleaning, although it may persist on damaged surfaces.
