Name
CORYFIN COUGH MUCOLYTIC 250 mg/5 ml syrup
Carbocysteine
What it is and what it is used for
CORYFIN TOSSE MUCOLYTIC contains carbocisteine, a substance that belongs to the group of medicines called "mucolytics". It acts, in respiratory conditions, by fluidifying the mucous secretions of the respiratory tract. By reducing the viscosity of the mucus, these medicines promote its elimination to the outside.
Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 14 days or if your child does not feel better or feels worse after 7 days.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use CORYFIN COUGH MUCOLYTIC
- if you are allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
- if you have a stomach or intestinal ulcer;
- if you are pregnant or breastfeeding;
- in children under 2 years of age.
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using CORYFIN COUGH MUCOLYTIC.
If the disorder occurs repeatedly or if you have noticed any recent changes in its characteristics, consult your doctor.
Caution is advised in elderly patients, asthmatic patients with a history of severe respiratory problems, debilitated patients, those with a history of peptic ulcers, or those taking medications known to cause gastrointestinal bleeding.
You should stop treatment with carbocisteine if you experience gastrointestinal bleeding.
This medicine should not be used in combination with cough sedatives and/or medicines that inhibit bronchial secretion.
