Therefore, treatment should be short-term.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eDo not use Coryfin Sedative Fluidifier\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e - if you are allergic to dextromethorphan or potassium sulphoguaiacholate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);\u003cbr\u003e - if you are taking or have taken up to 2 weeks ago antidepressants (medicines used for depression) (see “Other medicines and Coryfin Sedative Fluidifier”);\u003cbr\u003e - if you suffer from asthma (constriction and inflammation of the bronchi);\u003cbr\u003e - if you suffer from a respiratory disease characterised by bronchial obstruction and inflammation of the bronchi and lungs (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease);\u003cbr\u003e - if you have a lung infection (pneumonia); \u003cbr\u003e- if you have breathing problems (difficulty or depression of breathing);\u003cbr\u003e - if you suffer from heart or blood vessel problems (cardiovascular disease);\u003cbr\u003e - if you have high blood pressure (hypertension);\u003cbr\u003e - if you have an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism);\u003cbr\u003e - if you suffer from a disease that causes increased pressure in the eye and problems with your vision (glaucoma);\u003cbr\u003e - if you have an enlarged prostate (prostatic hypertrophy);\u003cbr\u003e - if you have narrowing of the stomach or intestines (gastrointestinal tract strictures);\u003cbr\u003e - if you suffer from narrowing of the urinary or genital tract (urogenital stenosis);\u003cbr\u003e - if you suffer from a disease that causes loss of consciousness and violent involuntary contractions of the muscles (epilepsy);\u003cbr\u003e - if you suffer from severe liver disease;\u003cbr\u003e - if you are pregnant, especially in the first trimester, or are breast-feeding (see “Pregnancy and breast-feeding”);\u003cbr\u003e - if the child to be treated is under two years old.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWarnings and precautions\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003eTalk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Coryfin Sedative Fluidifier:\u003cbr\u003e - if you have a history of drug or narcotic abuse (psychoactive substances capable of altering the psycho-physical state);\u003cbr\u003e - if the subject to be treated is an adolescent or a young adult;\u003cbr\u003e - if you have a chronic or persistent cough (for example due to smoking and some respiratory diseases such as emphysema\/asthma);\u003cbr\u003e - if the cough is accompanied by other symptoms such as fever, appearance of skin rash, headache, nausea and vomiting;\u003cbr\u003e - if your cough is irritating with abundant mucus production;\u003cbr\u003e - if you suffer from liver or kidney problems;\u003cbr\u003e - if you are taking medicines containing buprenorphine. The use of these medicines together with Coryfin Sedative Fluidificante may lead to serotonin syndrome, a condition that can cause death (see “Other medicines and Coryfin Sedative Fluidificante”).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003ePossible side effects\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003eLike all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The following side effects may occur with the use of this medicine with an unknown frequency (the frequency cannot be estimated from the available data):\u003cbr\u003e • allergic (hypersensitivity) reactions including anaphylactic reaction (a serious, rapidly occurring and potentially fatal allergic reaction), angioedema (swelling of the skin or mucous membranes), hives, itching, rash (skin eruption) and erythema (redness of the skin);\u003cbr\u003e • hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that are not there);\u003cbr\u003e • drowsiness, dizziness;\u003cbr\u003e • gastrointestinal disorders (stomach and intestinal disorders), nausea, vomiting and reduced appetite;\u003cbr\u003e • fatigue, fever.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eReporting of side effects\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003eIf you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
