Name
CORYFIN EXPECTORANT 3 mg/ml syrup
Ambroxol hydrochloride
What it is and what it is used for
CORYFIN EXPECTORANT contains ambroxol hydrochloride, a substance that belongs to the group of "mucolytic" drugs. It works by fluidifying the mucous secretions of the respiratory tract. By reducing the viscosity of the mucus, these drugs promote its elimination to the outside.
CORYFIN EXPECTORANT is used in respiratory conditions of the bronchi and lungs, alleviating disorders caused by excess mucus.
Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not take CORYFIN EXPECTORANT
- if you are allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
- if you have severe liver or kidney problems;
- in children under 2 years of age.
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking CORYFIN EXPECTORANT:
- if you have a stomach ulcer (lesion of the mucosa);
- if you have impaired kidney function;

Cases of serious skin reactions associated with the administration of ambroxol have been reported.

If you develop a skin rash (including lesions of mucous membranes such as mouth, throat, nose, eyes, genitals), stop taking CORYFIN EXPECTORANT and contact your doctor immediately. These serious skin reactions are often preceded by flu-like symptoms such as fever, chills, runny nose and sore throat. The rash may progress to widespread blistering and peeling of the skin (see section 4 "Possible side effects").
