Description
Class IIa medical device, useful for the treatment, maintenance and physiological control of the cervico-vaginal mucosa, to be used in all cases of temporary alteration of the vaginal microbial balance.
Vaginal tablets, indicated as an adjuvant for maintaining the physiological environment of the cervico-vaginal mucosa, are useful for the prevention and treatment of cervico-vaginal infections and alterations that may arise during pregnancy and which can cause premature rupture of the membranes, PROM, shortening of the uterine cervix, and for the prevention of preterm birth.
It may be useful:
- as an adjuvant in the prevention of spontaneous abortion and preterm birth;
- as an adjuvant in the prevention of the increased risk of miscarriage associated with invasive procedures such as amniocentesis or chorionic villus sampling;
- as an adjuvant treatment useful in the prevention of preterm birth in the presence of reduced cervicometry or cervicometry that does not correspond to the gestational period;
- as an adjuvant in the prevention and treatment of female infertility.
How to use
After thoroughly washing your hands, remove a single tablet from the blister pack. Gently insert the tablet into the vagina, as deeply as possible. To facilitate insertion of the vaginal tablet, it is recommended to lie supine with your legs slightly bent. Treatment should be started and stopped appropriately between menstrual periods or as otherwise advised by your doctor.
- As a treatment for the maintenance and control of the physiological environment of the cervico-vaginal mucosa and in particular for the prevention and treatment of cervico-vaginal infections: it is recommended to use 1 vaginal tablet per day, preferably in the evening before going to bed, for 7 consecutive days or as otherwise indicated by your doctor.
- As an adjuvant in the prevention of miscarriage and preterm birth: it is recommended to use 1 vaginal tablet per day, preferably in the evening before going to bed, for 7 consecutive days each month from the beginning of pregnancy until the thirty-seventh week, or as otherwise indicated by your doctor.
- As an adjuvant in the prevention of the increased risk of miscarriage associated with invasive procedures such as amniocentesis or chorionic villus sampling: it is recommended to use 1 vaginal tablet on the day of the examination and continue with subsequent applications every 12 hours until the pack is used up.
- As an adjuvant treatment useful for the prevention of preterm birth in the presence of reduced cervicometry or that does not correspond to the gestational period: it is recommended to use 1 vaginal tablet per day, preferably in the evening before going to bed, for 21 consecutive days, repeatable, up to the fortieth week, or as otherwise indicated by the doctor.
- As an adjuvant in the prevention and treatment of female infertility: it is recommended to use 1 vaginal tablet per day, preferably in the evening before going to bed, for 7 consecutive days in repeatable cycles, or as otherwise indicated by your doctor.
Components
Lactoferrin (300 mg), microcrystalline cellulose, mannitol, croscarmellose carboxymethylcellulose, vegetable magnesium stearate, HPMC, glycerol, silicon dioxide.
Warnings
The product is for vaginal use. Do not ingest. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity or incompatibility to any component of the product. May contain lactose. No studies are available regarding the use of the vaginal tablet in combination with local pharmacological therapies. The product is not intended for pediatric use. Treatment should be started and stopped appropriately between menstrual periods or as otherwise medically indicated. The maximum duration of continuous treatment is 30 days. Prolonged use of the product, as with all topical products, may cause sensitization or local irritation. If this occurs, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor or pharmacist. Do not use the product if the packaging is damaged or not perfectly intact when first opened. Use the product according to the instructions for use. Keep the product out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use the product after the expiry date indicated on the package.
Do not use if you are hypersensitive or incompatible with any component of the product. Tests conducted on the product to date have not revealed any sensitization or other side effects. If you experience persistent discomfort, consult your doctor.
Conservation
Store in a dry place away from light and heat. The expiration date indicated refers to the intact and properly stored product.
Shelf life in unopened packaging: 36 months.
