Description
Dietary supplement containing iron, vitamin C, folic acid (folate), and vitamin B12, useful for providing additional amounts of these nutrients in the presence of dietary deficiencies or increased body needs. Iron contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin and to normal oxygen transport in the body; together with vitamin C, vitamin B12, and folate, it contributes to the normal function of the immune system and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, normal energy metabolism, and normal cognitive function. Vitamin C enhances iron absorption. Supplemental folic acid intake increases maternal folate status. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor for the development of fetal neural tube defects. Folate contributes to normal hematopoiesis and maternal tissue growth during pregnancy. Vitamin B12 also contributes to normal red blood cell formation. How to use
It is recommended to take one orodispersible stick per day. For women of childbearing age, the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily supplemental intake of 400 mcg of folic acid (one orodispersible stick) for at least one month before and up to three months after conception.
