Description
Food supplement that combines folic acid, ferrous gluconate, and vitamin C in a single compound.
Property
Iron is an essential component of many basic biological processes (cellular energy processes, oxygen utilization, and DNA replication). It prevents learning disorders and promotes the development of neurocognitive abilities. Folic acid (vitamin B9), now known to be essential in preventing birth defects, especially those affecting the neural tube, is also essential for protein and DNA synthesis and the formation of hemoglobin. Vitamin C promotes iron absorption and delays its oxidation. It plays a role in collagen synthesis and the conversion of folic acid to folinic acid.
Ingredients
Water, fructose, ferrous gluconate, ascorbic acid; stabilizers: glycerol, sorbitol solution 70%; acidity regulator: sodium lactate solution 60%; thickener: xanthan gum; preservative: potassium sorbate; peach flavoring, folic acid, natural lemon flavoring; sweetener: sucralose.
Gluten free.
How to use
Preterm infants: 1 to 4 mg of elemental iron per kg of body weight in a single dose or in two doses (from 8 weeks of age to 1 year), maximum dose 15 mg/day. Full-term infants or children with severe deficiency anemia: 4 to 6 mg per kg of body weight in three doses. For mild and moderate cases, doses of 0.5 to 3 mg/kg in two doses are recommended.
Warnings
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
Keep out of reach of children under 3 years of age.
Supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.
Conservation
Store in a cool, dry place.
The expiry date refers to the product in intact packaging, stored correctly.
Shelf life in intact packaging : 24 months.
Validity after opening : 20 days.
