Ialuvit

A solution with a high sodium hyaluronate content (0.5%) that, thanks to its mucomimetic and pseudoplastic properties, spreads evenly across the ocular surface, forming a protective viscoelastic bandage. In this way, Ialuvit stabilizes the tear film and reduces friction and stress caused by blinking and eye movements. Cyanocobalamin and taurine, a B vitamin and an amino acid, respectively, are physiologically present in the tissues of the anterior segment of the eye and, together with hyaluronic acid, can assist in the re-epithelialization process of the corneal surface.
Ialuvit is formulated in a hypotonic solution to counterbalance any hyperosmolarity of the tear film and, thanks to its particular saline composition, restores and maintains at physiological levels the concentrations of important ions, such as sodium, potassium and magnesium, essential for the well-being of the ocular surface.

How to use
Ialuvit should be dosed individually based on your condition and the recommendations of your eye doctor. Generally, instill 1-2 drops of the solution into the conjunctival sac of each eye 3-4 times a day.
To reduce the risk of product contamination during use, it is advisable to open the aluminum pouch only if the product is to be used immediately thereafter.
Detach a single vial from the strip.
To open the bottle, remove the top flap by rotating it, taking care to place it on a clean surface so that it can be reused to close the bottle again.
Instill 1-2 drops into each eye, letting them fall from above and avoiding letting the bottle touch the eyelashes or the ocular surface.
Close the bottle by inserting the flap immediately after application.
Ialuvit can also be used when wearing contact lenses.

Warnings
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the components or other closely related chemical substances.
For external use only. Ialuvit should not be used immediately before administering medicinal products for therapeutic purposes, or within ten minutes of applying any topical drug therapy.
In rare cases, slight blurring of vision has been observed upon instillation, due to the viscosity of the solution. This sensation, however, disappears very quickly.
In rare cases, intolerance (burning and/or irritation) may occur, but this is harmless and does not require treatment modification. However, it is recommended to contact your eye doctor if symptoms persist. Following the instructions in the package insert reduces the risk of side effects.
Do not use the preparation after the expiry date indicated on the package.
Keep out of reach of children.
The red color of the solution is due to the presence of cyanocobalamin and does not indicate any alteration of the product. If used concomitantly with contact lenses, the ophthalmic solution may cause staining; this is only temporary and does not cause any damage to the lens itself.

Conservation
Store at a temperature between 2°C and 25°C.
Shelf life after opening: 24 months.
