{"product_id":"imodium-12-cpr-orosolubili-2-mg-1","title":"IMODIUM 2 MG OROSOLUBLE TABLETS 12 TABLETS","description":"\u003cb\u003eName\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e IMODIUM 2 mg buccal tablets\u003cbr\u003e Loperamide hydrochloride\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat it is and what it is used for\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003eThis medicine contains loperamide hydrochloride, an active substance that acts on the intestine by reducing intestinal movements and the urge to evacuate.\u003cbr\u003e IMODIUM is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of occasional (acute) diarrhoea.\u003cbr\u003e Contact your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 2 days of treatment.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat you need to know before taking the medicine\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Do not take IMODIUM if:\u003cbr\u003e - are allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);\u003cbr\u003e - are pregnant or breastfeeding;\u003cbr\u003e - has high fever and blood in the stool (signs of acute dysentery);\u003cbr\u003e - suffers from an inflammation of the intestine called ulcerative colitis;\u003cbr\u003e - has diarrhea caused by antibiotic use (pseudomembranous colitis);\u003cbr\u003e - have an infection of the intestine caused by bacteria such as Salmonella, Shigella and Campylobacter; - are using medicines that reduce bowel movements.\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eIMODIUM should not be given to children under 6 years of age.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWarnings and precautions\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking IMODIUM.\u003cbr\u003e Pay special attention:\u003cbr\u003e - if you have diarrhea your body loses fluids and mineral salts: to restore normal levels, it may be useful to take aqueous solutions based on sugar and salts;\u003cbr\u003e - treatment with IMODIUM is only symptomatic and does not serve to eliminate the cause of your disorder;\u003cbr\u003e - if you have reduced liver function, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking IMODIUM.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Stop treatment with IMODIUM immediately and consult your doctor:\u003cbr\u003e - if you have AIDS and notice swelling of the abdomen;\u003cbr\u003e - if you notice difficulty in defecating (constipation), swelling and\/or pain in the abdomen.\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eDo not take this medicine for any purpose other than that intended (see section 1) and never take more than the recommended dose (see section 3). Serious heart problems (with symptoms including a rapid or irregular heartbeat) have been reported in patients who have taken too much loperamide, the active substance in IMODIUM.\u003cbr\u003e Contact your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 2 days of treatment or if the disorder occurs repeatedly.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eChildren aged 6 to 12 years\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e IMODIUM must be used under medical supervision.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003ePossible side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eStop taking IMODIUM and see your doctor immediately if you notice:\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003e- serious allergic reactions (anaphylactic or anaphylactoid reactions) which may manifest as skin rashes, swelling of the hands, feet, face, eyes, lips, throat, difficulty breathing or a sudden drop in blood pressure;\u003cbr\u003e - abdominal swelling associated with pain, nausea, vomiting, inability to evacuate, signs of intestinal obstruction or megacolon;\u003cbr\u003e - severe skin rashes with redness, peeling and\/or blistering (e.g. Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cu\u003eOther side effects that may occur are\u003c\/u\u003e :\u003cbr\u003e Headache (cephalgia), dizziness, drowsiness.\u003cbr\u003e Difficulty in bowel movements (constipation), nausea, gas in the abdomen (flatulence), swelling of the abdomen.\u003cbr\u003e Abdominal pain or discomfort (especially in the upper abdomen), dry mouth, vomiting, indigestion (dyspepsia). \u003cbr\u003eSkin rashes, characterized by blisters, spots on the skin (hives) and\/or itching.\u003cbr\u003e Pain in the tongue (glossodynia).\u003cbr\u003e Contraction of the pupil (miosis).\u003cbr\u003e Decreased diuresis (urinary retention).\u003cbr\u003e Complete cessation of movement with detachment from external reality (torpor), slowing of mental functions (reduction of the level of consciousness), fainting (loss of consciousness), increased muscle tone (hypertonia), disturbances in muscle coordination, fatigue.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eReporting of side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
