Therefore do not use for prolonged treatments. After a short period of treatment (2 weeks) without appreciable results, consult your doctor.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e KOFITUSS COUGH SEDATIVO does not contain gluten, therefore it is not contraindicated if you suffer from celiac disease.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eChildren\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Do not give this medicine to children under 2 years of age (see subsection \"Do not take KOFITUSS COUGH SEDATIVO\").\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003ePossible side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eMost adverse reactions that have occurred following the intake of levodropropizine are non-serious and the symptoms have resolved with the suspension of therapy and, in some cases, with specific pharmacological treatment.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The adverse reactions reported have an unknown frequency (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data):\u003cbr\u003e - mydriasis (dilation of the pupil of the eye), bilateral blindness (affects both eyes);\u003cbr\u003e - allergic and anaphylactoid reactions, eyelid edema (swelling of the eyelid), angioneurotic edema (swelling of the deep dermis and subcutaneous tissue which may also involve the mucous membranes), urticaria;\u003cbr\u003e - nervousness, drowsiness, personality change, personality disorder; syncope (transient loss of consciousness), dizziness, vertigo, tremor; \u003cbr\u003e- paresthesia (abnormal sensation on the skin, tingling), tonic-clonic convulsion (grand mal) and petit mal seizure, hypoglycemic coma (loss of consciousness caused by a severe reduction in blood sugar levels);\u003cbr\u003e - palpitations, tachycardia (rapid heartbeat), atrial bigeminy (irregular heartbeat);\u003cbr\u003e - hypotension (low blood pressure);\u003cbr\u003e - dyspnea (difficulty breathing), cough, edema (swelling) of the respiratory tract;\u003cbr\u003e - stomach pain, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea;\u003cbr\u003e - cholestatic hepatitis (inflammation of the liver due to blockage of bile excretion);\u003cbr\u003e - urticaria, erythema (redness of the skin), exanthema (skin rash), pruritus, angioedema (swelling of the face and mucous membranes), skin reactions, glossitis (inflammation of the tongue) and aphthous stomatitis (painful ulcers in the mouth);\u003cbr\u003e - epidermolysis (rare and potentially serious skin diseases);\u003cbr\u003e - weakness of the lower limbs; \u003cbr\u003e- general malaise, generalized edema (swelling), asthenia (physical weakness).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eAdditional side effects in infants breastfed by mothers who have taken levodropropizine\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e A case of drowsiness, hypotonia (reduction of muscle tone) and vomiting has been reported in a newborn after levodropropizine was taken by the nursing mother. The symptoms appeared after feeding and resolved spontaneously after stopping breastfeeding for a few feedings.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eReporting of side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
