What it is and what it is used for
This medicine contains the active substance carbocisteine ​​lysine salt monohydrate, which belongs to a group of medicines called mucolytics, used to facilitate the elimination of mucus from the airways.

Lisomucil Tosse Mucolitico Unidie is indicated for the treatment of cough in acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory system.

Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 14 days.


What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not take Lisomucil Cough Mucolytic Unidie
- if you are allergic to carbocisteine ​​lysine salt monohydrate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
- if you suffer from a stomach or intestinal problem called gastroduodenal ulcer;
- if you are pregnant or breast-feeding (see section "Pregnancy and breast-feeding");
- if the person who is to take this medicine is a child under 11 years of age (see section "Children").


Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Lisomucil Cough Mucolytic Unidie.
Caution is advised in elderly patients, asthmatic patients with a history of severe respiratory problems, debilitated patients, those with a history of gastroduodenal ulcers or those taking drugs known to cause gastrointestinal bleeding. You should stop treatment with carbocisteine ​​if gastrointestinal bleeding occurs.
This medicine should not be used in combination with cough sedatives and/or medicines that inhibit bronchial secretion.

There are no known phenomena of reduction in the effectiveness of the medicine after prolonged treatment or phenomena of dependence (need to continue taking the medicine) with the use of Lisomucil Cough Mucolitico Unidie.

This medicine does not affect your weight so you can take it if you are on a low-calorie diet or if you have diabetes.

Children
Lisomucil Cough Mucolitico Unidie must not be administered to children under 11 years of age.


Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Talk to your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects:

Frequency not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data)
- skin irritations and diseases (rash, urticaria, erythema, dermatitis), possibly with spots, blisters or bubbles (exanthema, bullous exanthema/erythema), severe skin rashes often with blisters or lesions of the mucous membranes (Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, bullous dermatitis, erythema multiforme; toxic skin rash, itching, swelling due to accumulation of fluid around the eyes, mouth, tongue and throat, with possible difficulty in breathing (angioedema) (in such cases, stop treatment and consult your doctor to establish appropriate therapy);
- abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, gastrointestinal bleeding (in such cases, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor to establish appropriate therapy);
- dizziness;
- redness;
- difficulty breathing (dyspnea).
