{"product_id":"maalox-plus-50-cpr-mast-200-mg-200-mg-25-mg","title":"MAALOX PLUS 200 MG + 200 MG + 25 MG CHEWABLE TABLETS 50 TABLETS","description":"\u003cb\u003eName\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eMAALOX PLUS 200 mg + 200 mg + 25 mg chewable tablets\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Magnesium hydroxide + Aluminum oxide, hydrate + Dimethicone\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat it is and what it is used for\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e This medicine contains the following active substances: magnesium hydroxide and aluminium hydroxide, which decrease the amount of acid in the stomach, and dimethicone, which absorbs intestinal gas.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Maalox plus is a medicine used for the treatment of:\u003cbr\u003e • symptoms of excess stomach acid (hyperacidity) such as burning and pain even in case of inflammation of the esophagus (esophagitis) and hyperacidity when accompanied by associated digestive disorders (dyspepsia);\u003cbr\u003e • symptoms of excess air in the stomach and intestines when associated with hyperacidity.\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eTalk to your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat you need to know before taking the medicine\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eDo not use MAALOX PLUS\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e - if you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6); signs of an allergic reaction are skin rashes, swelling of the lips, tongue, face and throat, breathing problems;\u003cbr\u003e - if you suffer from porphyria (a rare hereditary disorder of blood metabolism);\u003cbr\u003e - if you have severe kidney problems;\u003cbr\u003e - if your body is severely wasted (cachexia);\u003cbr\u003e - in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWarnings and precautions\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking MAALOX PLUS:\u003cbr\u003e - if you have bowel problems or constipation, if you have minor kidney problems or if you are elderly because this medicine may make bowel problems worse; \u003cbr\u003e- if you are on a low phosphorus diet, if you have low levels of phosphate in your blood (hypophosphataemia) or if you are on long-term treatment. This medicine reduces the levels of phosphate in your blood and may cause bone problems.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e If you are taking this medicine at a high dose or if you suffer from diarrhoea, \u003cb\u003ebe careful\u003c\/b\u003e as this medicine may cause diarrhoea (see section 4 “Possible side effects”).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eChildren and adolescents\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e This medicine should not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.\u003cbr\u003e In young children, the use of magnesium hydroxide may cause hypermagnesemia, particularly if they have renal impairment or dehydration.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003ePossible side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003e\u003cb\u003eStop taking MAALOX PLUS and contact your doctor or nearest hospital immediately\u003c\/b\u003e if you experience: difficulty breathing or swallowing, swelling of the face, hands and feet, eyes, lips and\/or tongue, skin rashes, itching, hives and dizziness, as these may be symptoms of serious allergic reactions (angioedema and anaphylactic reaction).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The following side effects may occur with the use of this medicine:\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eUncommon (may affect up to 1 in 100 people):\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e - constipation (constipation) or diarrhoea (see section 2 “Warnings and precautions”).\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eVery rare (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e - hypermagnesemia, including observations following prolonged administration to patients with renal impairment.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eFrequency not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data):\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003e- excessive reaction of the body to foreign substances (hypersensitivity reaction, even serious), more or less itchy skin rash characterized by the appearance of bumps on the skin (hives), itching;\u003cbr\u003e - alteration of the levels of aluminium and phosphate in the blood which may cause bone problems (see section 2 “Warnings and precautions”);\u003cbr\u003e - abdominal pain.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eReporting of side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
