Dietary food intended for special medical purposes.
Low-sweetening powdered carbohydrate supplement based on maltodextrin.
It is made from maltodextrin, obtained from corn starch, and water-soluble B vitamins, which promote the conversion of carbohydrates into glucose and are essential for energy metabolism. It comes as a white powder characterized by high solubility, a neutral flavor, and low sweetening power, with a DE value of 18-20 (dextrose equivalents). It is free of sucrose, fructose, lactose, gluten, and other allergens.
Maltodex Up is suitable for the treatment and dietary management of conditions requiring high energy intake, such as malnutrition associated with pathologies and in situations where dietary energy intake is deficient (anorexia and loss of appetite), as well as for increasing the carbohydrate content of nutritional mixtures used in enteral nutrition or other foods.
In enteral nutrition, it is suggested to start with small doses and gradually increase the quantity in relation to the patient's tolerability.
A concentrated solution of Maltodex up is more viscous when cold: it is therefore recommended to administer it at room temperature.

Ingredients
Maltodextrin; B vitamins: pyridoxine; riboflavin; thiamine.

Gluten- free and lactose- free.

How to use
With 60 g of Maltodex Up divided into two or more doses, as needed, you provide approximately 240 Kcal.
It is recommended to dissolve 60 g of powder in 500 ml of liquid.
A level tablespoon (15 ml) is equal to approximately 6 g of powder and provides just under 25 kcal.

Preparation
Maltodex Up is highly soluble and can be added to hot or cold, sweet or savoury drinks or foods, such as water, tea, coffee, fruit juices, squeezed fruit, creams, yoghurt, purées, soups, etc.
Use with liquids: pour the powder into the liquid and mix well until completely dissolved.
Use with foods: Before adding the powder to a food, especially if dense, it may be more practical to dissolve the powder in a little water and add it to the food, mixing well.

Warnings
Maltodex Up must be used under the supervision of a doctor.
The dosage must be adapted to the patient's needs.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
Keep out of reach of children.

Conservation
Store in a cool, dry place.
Close the package tightly after use.
Consume within 8 weeks of opening.
Preparations and foods enriched with Maltodex Up, and possibly not completely consumed, can be used within 24 hours after storing in the refrigerator.
