Accidental ingestion or inhalation of some disinfectants can have serious, sometimes fatal, consequences. \u003cbr\u003eDo not expose the treated area to direct sunlight after applying the product. Avoid contact with the brain, meninges (the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord) and middle ear.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e MASTER-AID Disinfectant should not come into contact with the eyes due to the risk of vision damage. If it comes into contact with the eyes, rinse immediately and thoroughly with water. If irritation, redness or pain in the eye or visual disturbance occurs, seek medical attention immediately.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Serious cases of permanent corneal trauma (damage to the surface of the eye) have been reported following accidental contact of similar products with the eye during surgery on patients under general anesthesia (induced deep sleep). Such injuries may require corneal transplantation.\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eThe product is for external use only; the use, especially if prolonged, of topical products may give rise to sensitization phenomena, in which case discontinue treatment and consult your doctor to establish an appropriate therapy.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eChildren\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e MASTER-AID Disinfectant can cause chemical burns, especially in infants.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003ePossible side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e In some cases, intolerance (burning or irritation) may occur, but this is inconsequential and does not require treatment modification. Some rare cases of idiosyncrasy (intolerance) have been reported with chlorhexidine.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Other possible side effects are (frequency not known): \u003cbr\u003e- allergic skin disorders, including dermatitis (inflammation of the skin), itching, erythema (redness of the skin), eczema, rash, hives, skin irritation and blisters;\u003cbr\u003e - corneal trauma (damage to the surface of the eye) and permanent eye damage, including permanent visual impairment (following accidental exposure of the eyes during head, face and neck surgery) in patients under general anaesthesia (induced deep sleep).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eAdditional side effects in children\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Chemical burns.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eReporting of side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
