SILVERIN STICKS
Description
Class I medical device.
Silver nitrate pencils.
In small concentrations, silver nitrate has a bactericidal effect; in large concentrations, it has a corrosive effect, creating crusts. Potassium nitrate is the diluent to ensure the silver nitrate reaction occurs gently. The mixture is placed on a pencil, like the head of a match, and can be used only once after moistening. This medical product can be used on specific areas, thus limiting the effect to specific points.
For the treatment of warts, umbilical cord remnants, skin growths, wound treatment, aphthous stomatitis, to stop superficial bleeding and epistaxis (nosebleeds).
How to use
Treat only small areas of skin at a time.
For skin use: Prepare a clean, sturdy surface. Wash the area to be treated. Moisten the head of the pencil by briefly placing it under water. The color of the head changes to white or light gray. Clean or apply the head repeatedly, precisely and evenly, to the area being treated. The treated area will quickly change color and turn black; over the course of a few days, this area will be rejected by the surrounding tissue. Repeat the treatment every 2-3 days until the desired result is achieved.
Warnings
Do not use if allergic to silver nitrate or potassium nitrate. A discoloration of the treated area may last up to 24 hours.
To treat any type of skin change that presents uncommon pigmentation or shape changes and that is not clearly recognizable as "granulation tissue" or as a simple wart, pencils should be used under medical supervision.
Do not touch the head (corrosive substance) of the silver nitrate pencil with wet hands.
Protect clothing and other items when handling the pencil.
Silver nitrate causes black and brown stains that cannot be removed with regular detergents.
Thoroughly wash any healthy skin that accidentally comes into contact with the pencil head with water and a sponge; however, these areas of skin may experience a harmless change in pigmentation, becoming darker. This pigmentation change disappears after about 10-14 days.
If the pencil comes into contact with the eye, rinse the eye immediately under running water with the eyelids open for at least 5 minutes continuously and then seek medical advice.
When applying the product to the mouth, it is essential to ensure that no parts of the head are swallowed.
Treat children under 3 years of age only after personal medical advice.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medical product during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant.
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not use after the expiration date. Do not dispose of with household waste.
Conservation
Store pencils in their original packaging, in a dry place, away from light.
Shelf life of intact packaging: 48 months.
