It is used as an adjuvant in the treatment of vulvo-vaginal Candida infections, even if superinfected by gram-positive germs: it can also be used after other therapy, oral or topical, in order to reduce the risk of relapses.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat you need to know before taking the medicine\u003c\/b\u003e \u003cbr\u003e\u003cb\u003eDo not use Micotef vaginal solution:\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e If you are allergic to the active substance or other similar antifungal medicines or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWarnings and precautions\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Micotef should not be used at the same time as latex condoms or diaphragms. Micotef may damage latex products and prevent them from working properly.\u003cbr\u003e This medicine contains propylene glycol which may cause skin irritation.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003ePossible side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Like all medicines, Micotef vaginal solution can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.\u003cbr\u003e Miconazole therapy is usually well tolerated. Rarely, miconazole may cause vaginal burning or irritation, pelvic cramps; even more rarely, skin rashes and headaches.
