Döderlein's bacillus
What it is and what it is used for
NORMOGIN consists of freeze-dried Döderlein's bacillus (Lactobacillus Rhamnosus). This lactobacillus is normally present in the vagina of a healthy woman and represents the main natural defense mechanism against the development of agents that can cause disease (pathogenic microorganisms). NORMOGIN restores the normal (physiological) conditions of the vaginal environment, and is a useful complement when ending a therapy with antibiotics or other chemotherapeutic agents.

NORMOGIN is indicated in the treatment of the following vaginal disorders:
- vaginal infections (vaginitis associated with ovarian failure, infantile vaginitis, senile vaginitis);
- itching (vulvar itching);
- increased secretions (hypofolliculin leukorrhea);
- alteration of the vaginal mucosa (vaginal dystrophy);
- adjuvant to other medicines (antibiotics and chemotherapeutics) in infections caused by a germ (Trichomonas vaginitis).

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use NORMOGIN
if you are allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).

Do not use NORMOGIN to replace antibiotic or chemotherapy therapy, but to integrate it, especially at the end of specific treatment for the infection, as this medicine restores the normal (physiological) conditions of the vagina.

Interactions with other medicinal products
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

There are no known interactions between NORMOGIN and other medicines.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

No side effects have been reported with the use of this medicine.
