Description
Medical device in powder form for oral solution. It can be taken in case of occasionally irregular bowel movements and is particularly indicated in chronic constipation.
Macro-Lax 4000 helps the natural balance of intestinal functions; it has a laxative action, which through a physical mechanism attracts water thus softening the stool making evacuation easier. In this way it promotes a sense of well-being and relief. It is not absorbed or fermented in the intestine, does not irritate the mucosa of the gastrointestinal tract and is eliminated in the stool in an unchanged form. Generally it does not cause cramps, abdominal pain or flatulence. Its effectiveness does not decrease over time.
Ability to rehydrate and soften hard stools, facilitating evacuation and providing a feeling of relief. Gopeg has a physical mechanism of action and performs its action in a delicate manner: it is not absorbed by the body, is eliminated in unchanged form and does not give rise to the production of gas.
It can be taken in the case of occasionally irregular bowel movements and is particularly indicated in chronic constipation.
It is suitable for children aged 2 and over, the elderly and celiacs.

How to use
The contents of one sachet (10 g) should be dissolved in approximately 150 ml (corresponding to a glass) of water or other drinks such as tea, fruit juices, milk, stirring until a homogeneous solution is obtained. Drink the solution.
It should be diluted with a drink of your choice, cold or hot (about 150 ml): for example a glass of water, fruit juice, tea or even milk, mixing until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
The appropriate dose is the minimum sufficient to produce regular evacuation of soft stools and must be adjusted based on the effects observed. It varies from 1 sachet every other day (particularly for pediatric use) up to 2 sachets per day.
When regular defecation is achieved, the dosage should be reduced to 1 sachet per day or every other day.
The maximum daily dose can be up to 20 g and can be taken in a single administration.
Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of 20 g.
Children
For patients aged 2 years and older, the recommended dose is 0.7 g/kg.
Up to 20 kg of weight, the dosage should be adjusted to body weight according to the doctor's instructions.
Pregnant or breastfeeding women:
There are no adequate and well-controlled studies, therefore do not take the product during pregnancy and/or breastfeeding.
Warnings
Do not take the product in case of:
- hypersensitivity to macrogol 4000;
- gastrointestinal perforation and/or obstruction.
If you have any doubts, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking the product.
Special precautions to take
As with all laxatives, the presence of organic disorders must be excluded before starting treatment.
The product can be taken for prolonged periods but if the symptoms persist despite the associated dietary measures, a doctor's opinion is necessary to exclude underlying pathologies.
It can be used from 2 years of age.
The product shows its effectiveness after 48 hours from its intake and can be used for treatments lasting up to 30 days. Its formulation containing only macrogol 4000 makes it suitable for patients who require a low sodium, galactose-free and gluten-free diet.
The absence of flavorings and sweeteners does not alter the taste of the drink. The product is disposable, do not use the sachets partially or already opened. Do not use the device in a way other than that indicated by the manufacturer.
Excessive doses of the product may cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, abdominal distension and vomiting, which resolve when treatment is stopped or the dose is reduced.
In these circumstances, you should contact your doctor.

Conservation
Store the original packaging in a cool, dry place.
The expiry date indicated refers to the product in its intact packaging and stored correctly.
Do not use the product after the expiration date indicated.
