SmartFlex 500ml
Peptamen is ideal for those with serious problems related to digestion and nutrient absorption, to be administered via tube, PEG or stoma.
Peptamen is a product from the Peptamen line developed by Nestlé Health Science and is particularly suitable for patients with digestive disorders. These include, for example, those suffering from malabsorption diarrhea or enteritis due to cancer treatment, or those suffering from pancreatic or intestinal insufficiency, cystic fibrosis, or short bowel syndrome. By combating reflux and gastric stasis, this food is also suitable for patients with neurological impairment who suffer from these conditions.
Peptamen is very well-balanced. Each ml of product provides exactly 1 kcal, distributed among proteins (16%), carbohydrates (51%), and lipids (33%). The latter are represented by a blend of MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides) and vegetable oils. The food's low osmolarity also reduces the risk of diarrhea. However, it is the hydrolyzed whey proteins that characterize Peptamen: not only are they highly nutritious and antioxidant, but they also promote better nitrogen utilization and gastrointestinal function.
This product can be administered enterally through a tube, PEG, or stoma. It has a neutral flavor and is gluten-free with negligible traces of lactose. The daily dose varies depending on the patient's needs: always consult your doctor.
