SCREEN CHECK TEST
Pulse oximeter
Description
In vitro diagnostic medical device CE 0482.
Measures blood oxygen saturation and pulse rate using a fingertip. It non-invasively detects the actual oxyhemoglobin (HbO2) content in arterial blood. It can also be used for pre- or post-exercise measurements (never during).
Read the warnings and instructions for use carefully.
Suitable for a wide range of applications: family, hospital, anesthesiology operating rooms, pediatric and intensive care units, oxygen bars, social and healthcare facilities, and sports medicine. Also available in pharmacies.
How to use
Press and release the button to turn on the device; hold the button down for about one second. The oximeter displays a parameter setting interface. Press or hold the button to perform the corresponding operations. Press and hold to set an item, or press to change an option or change the display mode. Pressing means no more than 0.5 seconds, while holding means more than 0.5 seconds.
Insert one finger fully into the measuring parts of the oximeter, hold the nail surface upward and release the clip, then press the power button to turn on the oximeter.
If you have not yet fully inserted your finger into the cavity, the measurement result may be inaccurate.
Do not vibrate your finger during the measurement and ensure that your body does not move. After the values stabilize, read the oxygen saturation and pulse rate readings on the screen.
NOTE: The oximeter automatically turns off 10 seconds after your finger is removed.
Warnings
Do not attempt to service the oximeter unless you are a professional technician.
Only professionals with maintenance qualifications can perform the necessary internal maintenance.
Periodically change the contact position between the oximeter probe and the finger during measurement. Adjust the probe position before measurement and check the integrity of the skin, the condition of the finger's blood circulation, and the position of the finger.
This product is not applicable to the examination of newborns.
If the measured value exceeds the normal range, consult a doctor promptly, even if you are sure that the instrument is not malfunctioning.
Do not directly expose your eyes to the light-emitting components of the oximeter, as this may cause eye damage.
Do not expose the device to lint, dust, light (including sunlight), pets, vermin, or children, etc.
Use by adults or children weighing less than 30 kg is prohibited.
Between uses, it takes more than half an hour to heat up or cool down from the minimum/maximum storage temperature until it is ready for its intended use.
The patient is an expected operator.
The lay practitioner or responsible lay organization should contact the manufacturer or the manufacturer's representative regarding the following matters:
• assistance in setting up, using or maintaining the equipment or system, if necessary;
• to report unexpected operations or events.
The following factors may interfere with or influence the accuracy of the test:
- this product is used in an environment where high-frequency devices, such as high-frequency electric knives and CT scanners, are present;
- the user suffers from hypotension, severe vascular atrophy, severe anemia or oxygen deficiency;
- the user is in sudden cardiac arrest or shock;
- A finger with nail polish or a fake nail can cause incorrect pulse oxygen saturation readings.
Be aware of the effects of degraded sensors which can impair performance or cause other problems.
Do not self-diagnose or treat based on the measurement results, but consult a doctor.
Note: the product has no contraindications.
The device has no side effects if administered correctly and the residual risk is acceptable.
-Do not use the oximeter in environments with flammable gases, flammable anesthetics, or other flammable substances.
- Do not attempt to charge a common dry cell battery, as this may cause leakage, fire, or even explosion. Dispose of used batteries in accordance with environmental protection regulations.
- Do not use the oximeter in MRI or CT environments.
- Do not use the oximeter when it is wet from water or steam condensation. Avoid moving the oximeter from excessively cold to high-temperature, humid environments.
- For safety reasons, no modification of this equipment is permitted.
- Do not use accessories or detachable parts not specified or authorized by the manufacturer. Otherwise, damage to the unit or danger to the user or patients may occur.
