What it is and what it is used for
RINAZINA ANTIALLERGICA contains the active substance azelastine hydrochloride, which belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines.
RINAZINA ANTIALLERGICA is used to treat the short-term symptoms of allergic rhinitis in adults, adolescents and children over six years of age.
Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a short time of treatment.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
DO NOT use RINAZINA ANTIALLERGICA
- if you are allergic to azelastine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6)
- in children under 6 years of age
- during pregnancy and breastfeeding (see "Pregnancy and breastfeeding")
Warnings and precautions
If you notice that your symptoms persist or worsen during treatment, contact your doctor.
Children
RINAZINA ANTIALLERGICA must not be administered to children under 6 years of age.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, RINAZINA ANTIALLERGICA can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
A sensation of bitter taste, typical of the drug itself, has been described, which can occur especially due to an incorrect position of the head, tilted backwards, during administration.
In rare cases, irritation of the nasal mucosa with possible modest bleeding has been observed. These side effects are generally transitory. However, when they occur, it is advisable to consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
Reporting of side effects
If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet. You can also report side effects directly via the national reporting system at: https://www.aifa.gov.it/content/segnalazionireazioni-avverse .
