Description
Disposable medical device for rectal use in suppository format, indicated to facilitate bowel evacuation.
It can be used for the short-term treatment of occasional constipation.
Suppository with temporary duration and action. Glycerol-based rectal preparations demonstrate evacuative activity without the product itself being absorbed by the intestinal mucosa. In fact, when present in the intestinal lumen, glycerol exerts its activity not as a result of systemic absorption, but simply through a physical mechanism.
It softens the stool and works by lubricating the wall of the rectum, encouraging bowel movements and muscle contractions that push the fecal mass forward and promote its expulsion.

How to use
Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using suppositories.
If the suppository is too soft to use, it is recommended to place it in the refrigerator for a few minutes or under cold water. After this, you can remove the wrapper and wet it with cold water or a water-based lubricant to facilitate insertion.
Lie down on your back and insert the pointed end of the suppository into your rectum. Push it in completely with your finger, otherwise the suppository may be expelled. Remain lying down, preferably on your stomach, for a few minutes before sitting or standing. The effect occurs within half an hour.
For rectal use only.

Components
One suppository contains: glycerol 2,315 mg; sodium stearate and sodium bicarbonate qs up to 2,500 mg.

Warnings
Do not swallow, for rectal use only.
Do not use SELLALAX for any other purpose.
Do not use if you experience cramps, colic, acute or unknown abdominal pain, or if you suffer from inflammatory bowel diseases, such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease. Also avoid use if you experience nausea, vomiting, blood in the stool, anal fissures, intestinal obstruction, or ileus (loss of intestinal muscle tone).
Low blood potassium levels or severe dehydration advise against the use of SELLALAX.
Do not administer in case of allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the components.
Do not use SELLALAX after the expiry date printed on the package and on the aluminum container or if the package does not appear intact.
SELLALAX is not indicated for children and adolescents under 12 years of age.
It is recommended to use SELLALAX once daily. Consult your doctor if there is no improvement or if constipation persists. Prolonged use of bowel movements (more than 7 days) is not recommended and may lead to dependence. Excessive doses can cause abdominal pain and diarrhea; the resulting fluid and electrolyte losses must be replaced.
Occasionally, a slight rectal burning sensation may be felt.
Tips for healthy bowel function: Drinking plenty of water, increasing fiber in your diet, and exercising regularly all contribute to healthy bowel function.
Keep SELLALAX out of the reach of children.
Inform your doctor if you experience:
• absence of any bowel movements, even for just a few days, or if you notice a sudden change in your habits or movements that lasts for more than two weeks;
• accidental ingestion;
• onset of side effects;
• concomitant use of other medicines or medical devices.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding: no interactions with other active pharmaceutical ingredients are known, therefore, in the absence of clinical data and in case of concomitant use with other medicines or medical devices, it is advisable to consult your doctor before using SELLALAX.

Conservation
Store in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and heat sources and at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.
Do not dispose of in the environment after use.
Shelf life when packaged intact: 60 months.
