Description
Moisturizing, epithelium-protective, soothing and lubricating ophthalmic solution.
Sterile aqueous hydrogel containing: polyvinyl alcohol, with lubricating, hydrating, viscoelastic, mucoadhesive, and protective properties; dexpanthenol, a homologue of pantothenic acid, a member of the B group vitamins, a vitamin-based tissue nutrient that protects the epithelium; hexamidine disethionate, polyhexanide hydrochloride, and disodium edetate, with protective properties.
Thanks to the properties of its components, the product is indicated as an adjuvant in the corneal re-epithelialization process, particularly following stress or physical insults.
The presence of antiseptics in the formulation ensures the sterility of the ophthalmic solution after the first opening of the vial, helping to protect ocular tissue from irritation. The concentration of polyvinyl alcohol (1.25%) in the product has been specifically designed to ensure that the resulting hydrogel has rheological characteristics similar to those of tear fluid and an effective adhesive property on the ocular mucosa, providing a lubricating, hydrating, and protective effect without causing visual blurring. This hydrogel also ensures the components remain on the ocular mucosa for a long time, promoting their nourishing and vitamin-rich action, which aids in re-epithelialization.
The excipients in the formulation include methylsulfonylmethane, a biologically available sulfur-containing substance, which facilitates the surface absorption of dexpanthenol by activating cellular permeability. It is an aqueous colloidal liquid characterized by the following chemical and physical properties: it is perfectly transparent and colorless; it is miscible with tear fluid in all proportions; its pH, viscosity, and osmolarity values are perfectly compatible with ocular tissues and tear fluid, and therefore offers a high degree of tolerability.
How to use
Instill 1-2 drops of the solution into the eye, applying gentle pressure to the bottle. It is recommended to repeat this procedure 2-3 or more times a day. If used in combination with other eye drops, it is advisable to use them at different times to allow for possible mutual dilution.
Components
Polyvinyl alcohol 1.25%, dexpanthenol, hexamidine disethionate 0.050%, polyhexanide hydrochloride 0.0001%, methylsulfonylmethanedisodium edetate, dibasic sodium phosphate, monobasic potassium phosphate, purified water.
Warnings
