What it is and what it is used for
In neurology and pediatrics : clinical pictures expressing a state of hyperexcitability of the central and peripheral nervous system, supported by a magnesium deficiency.
In obstetrics: vomiting, insomnia, irritability, muscle cramps, painful contractions of the uterus, eclampsia.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Severe renal failure.
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Do not administer to subjects undergoing digitalis therapy.
Warnings and precautions
If symptoms persist or worsen, contact your doctor.
In patients with renal insufficiency it is necessary to reduce the dosage and monitor renal function and magnesium levels.
It is advisable to consider the possibility that cardiovascular and respiratory depression may occur during treatment.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, SOLUMAG® can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Rare digestive disorders; diarrhea, abdominal pain.
Exceptional cases of individual intolerance to the ion have been reported, which can be treated with oral or parenteral antihistamines.
Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
