In addition, this medicine contains calcium folinate hydrate that provides the body with folic acid, a vitamin that is used to treat all folate deficiency syndromes that manifest themselves mainly in the form of anemia.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e This medicine is indicated for the treatment of:\u003cbr\u003e - vitamin deficiencies (hypodysvitaminosis) which usually occur during therapy with medicines used to treat infections (antibiotics, chemotherapy) and tumors (antitumor drugs);\u003cbr\u003e - reduction in the number of red blood cells in the blood (anaemic syndromes secondary to vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency) also during pregnancy, in the period following childbirth (puerperium) and during breastfeeding (see the paragraph “pregnancy and breastfeeding”); \u003cbr\u003e- reduction in the number of red blood cells in the blood (anaemic conditions) in children and adolescents, especially if accompanied by loss of appetite (anorexia) and failure to thrive.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Tonogen Vitaminico is also indicated as an adjuvant in the therapy of infectious states (toxic-infectious states), liver problems (aftermath of hepatitis, functional liver deficiency) and during the period following surgery, an illness or trauma (convalescence).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a few days.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat you need to know before taking the medicine\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eDo not take Tonogen Vitaminico\u003c\/b\u003e if you are allergic to nicotinamide, riboflavin-5'-phosphate sodium salt, thiamine hydrochloride, cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12), calcium folinate hydrate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWarnings and precautions\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Tonogen Vitaminico. \u003cbr\u003eIf you suffer from a serious blood disorder (pernicious anaemia) and your doctor has prescribed cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12), to be administered by injection into a muscle or vein (parenteral route), do not interrupt this therapy during treatment with Tonogen Vitaminico.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003ePossible side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Stomach problems (gastric intolerance) are very rare.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eReporting of side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
