It belongs to the group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eVoltadol Unidie is used for the short-term (maximum 7 days) local treatment of pain associated with muscle strains, sprains or bruises of the arms and legs due to blunt trauma in adolescents from 16 years of age and in adults.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWhat you need to know before taking the medicine\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eDo not use Voltadol Unidie\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e - if you are \u003cb\u003eallergic\u003c\/b\u003e to \u003cb\u003ediclofenac\u003c\/b\u003e or any of the \u003cb\u003eother ingredients\u003c\/b\u003e of this medicine (listed in section 6);\u003cbr\u003e - if you are \u003cb\u003eallergic\u003c\/b\u003e to any \u003cb\u003eother non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs\u003c\/b\u003e (NSAIDs, e.g. acetylsalicylic acid, ibuprofen);\u003cbr\u003e - if you have experienced \u003cb\u003easthma attacks\u003c\/b\u003e , \u003cb\u003ehives\u003c\/b\u003e or \u003cb\u003eswelling and irritation inside the nose\u003c\/b\u003e after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs;\u003cbr\u003e - if you suffer from active \u003cb\u003egastric or duodenal ulcer\u003c\/b\u003e ;\u003cbr\u003e - \u003cb\u003eon damaged skin\u003c\/b\u003e (e.g. skin abrasions, cuts, burns), \u003cb\u003einfected or inflamed skin (exudative dermatitis) or eczema\u003c\/b\u003e ; \u003cbr\u003e- if you are in the last three months of pregnancy;\u003cbr\u003e - in children and adolescents under 16 years of age.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eWarnings and precautions\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Voltadol Unidie if you suffer or have suffered in the past from bronchial asthma or allergies, you may experience bronchial muscle cramps (bronchospasm), which manifests itself with difficulty in breathing;\u003cbr\u003e • if \u003cb\u003eyou notice a skin rash\u003c\/b\u003e , which appears after applying the medicated plaster. If this happens, remove the medicated plaster immediately and stop treatment;\u003cbr\u003e • if you suffer from \u003cb\u003ekidney\u003c\/b\u003e , \u003cb\u003eheart\u003c\/b\u003e or \u003cb\u003eliver\u003c\/b\u003e problems or have suffered in the past from \u003cb\u003egastrointestinal\u003c\/b\u003e ulcers, \u003cb\u003eintestinal inflammation\u003c\/b\u003e or a tendency to bleed.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Undesirable effects can be reduced by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cu\u003e\u003cb\u003eImportant precautions\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/u\u003e \u003cbr\u003e• The medicated plaster must not come into contact with or be applied to eyes or mucous membranes.\u003cbr\u003e • Elderly patients should use Voltadol Unidie with caution, as they may be more likely to develop side effects.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Avoid exposing the treated area to direct sunlight or sunlamps after removing the medicated plaster, in order to reduce the risk of light sensitivity.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Do not use Voltadol Unidie at the same time as any other medicine containing diclofenac or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs, regardless of whether they are used externally or taken orally.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eChildren and adolescents\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Diclofenac is contraindicated in children and adolescents under 16 years of age.\u003cbr\u003e There are insufficient data on efficacy and safety for children and adolescents under 16 years of age (see section \u003cem\u003e\u003cb\u003eDo not use Voltadol Unidie\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e ).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e\u003cb\u003ePossible side effects\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cb\u003eIf the following symptoms appear, tell your doctor immediately and stop using the patch:\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cbr\u003e sudden itchy skin rash (hives); swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, face, lips, mouth, or throat; difficulty breathing; drop in blood pressure or weakness.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The following side effects may also occur:\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cem\u003e\u003cb\u003eCommon (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e local skin reactions, such as redness of the skin, burning sensation, itching, red and inflamed skin, skin rash sometimes with pustules or wheals.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e \u003cem\u003e\u003cb\u003eVery rare (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e hypersensitivity reactions or local allergic reactions (contact dermatitis).\u003cbr\u003e   \u003cbr\u003eIn patients using topical active substances belonging to the same class of medicinal products as diclofenac, isolated cases of generalized skin rash, hypersensitivity reactions such as swelling of the skin and mucous membranes and anaphylactic-type reactions with acute disturbances of circulatory regulation and sensitivity to light have been reported.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e The absorption of diclofenac into the body through the skin is very low compared to the concentration of the active substance in the blood measured after oral intake of diclofenac.
