For the treatment of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides spp.) and tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus sanguineus) in dogs and cats. For the treatment of biting lice in dogs (Trichodectes canis) and cats (Felicola subrostratus). The product can be used as part of a strategic treatment for the control of flea allergy dermatitis (FAD). The insecticidal efficacy against new infections by adult fleas persists for up to 2 months in cats and up to 3 months in dogs, depending on the severity of the environmental infestation. The product has persistent acaricidal efficacy for up to 4 weeks against ticks, depending on the level of environmental infestation.
Dosage
The spray with mechanical pump delivers 0.5 ml of product. In order to wet the fur down to the skin, apply 3 or 6 ml/kg bw, depending on the length of the fur. This dosage can be achieved with 6-12 sprays per application/kg bw. Depending on the length of the fur, the package allows: 4-8 treatments for a 4 kg cat; 3 treatments for a 10 kg dog. Spray against the grain over the entire surface of the animal's body, from a distance of 10-20 cm. Rub the fur, especially in animals with long fur, to bring the product into direct contact with the skin. For the treatment of the head or young or nervous animals, the application can be done using a glove to be passed against the grain. Leave to dry naturally. The formulation containing a fixing agent creates a film that makes the fur shiny. For optimal control of flea and/or tick infestations, the treatment program can be based on the local epidemiological situation. In the absence of safety studies, the minimum interval between treatments is 4 weeks. Puppies and kittens from 2 days of age can be treated safely.
Conservation
Do not store above 25 degrees C. Protect from direct sunlight. Shelf life after first opening the container: 1 year.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Laboratory studies have shown no evidence of teratogenic effects in rats and rabbits. Fipronil is well tolerated by puppies following treatment of lactating bitches. There are no data available on the safety of the product in pregnant or lactating bitches or cats; therefore, use only in accordance with the risk/benefit assessment.
