ENTEROSGEL
Description
Medical device.
Gastrointestinal adsorbent indicated for the treatment of acute diarrhea and irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea.
ENTEROSGEL is an oral intestinal adsorbent (enterosorbent) composed of an organic mineral, capable of adsorbing certain toxic and harmful substances (for example endotoxins and enterotoxins) in the intestine, which it physically binds to its surface, reducing the frequency of bowel movements and the duration of diarrhea.
ENTEROSGEL is eliminated through the feces, removing adsorbed toxins and harmful substances, with beneficial effects in the treatment of the indicated conditions.
How to use
- Take the necessary dose of ENTEROSGEL as soon as loose stools are observed.
- Take ENTEROSGEL at least 2 hours before or after taking oral medications.
- Take ENTEROSGEL at least 1-2 hours before or after a meal.
- Dilute the dose of ENTEROSGEL in water at room temperature before administration.
- Shake the tube well before opening and before each use.
- Use the tube within 30 days of opening.
Up to 1 year: 2.5 g (about half a teaspoon) diluted in 7.5-15 ml of water, 3 times a day.
1–6 years: 5 g (approximately 1 teaspoon) diluted in 50-100 ml of water, 3 times a day.
7–14 years: 10 g (approximately 2 teaspoons) diluted in 50-100 ml of water, 3 times a day.
15 years and adults: 15 g to 22.5 g (about 1 tablespoon) diluted in 200 ml of water, 3 times a day.
Duration of treatment with ENTEROSGEL
- 3–5 days in case of acute diarrhea.
- Up to 30 days in cases of Irritable Bowel Syndrome with diarrhea, with an interval between one treatment cycle and the next of at least 3 days.
- Consult your doctor before administering to children under 3 years of age.
- At the beginning of treatment (day 1) it is possible to double the first dose and then continue with a single dose after each bowel movement, up to a maximum of 8 doses on the first day.
- During the treatment of chronic diarrhea, the dosage can be adjusted based on the consistency of the stool and the frequency of diarrhea.
- Dosage may be increased to 2 doses, up to 3 times a day, if stools are loose or reduced to 1 dose a day if stool consistency is normal. A maximum of 6 doses per day may be taken.
- Discontinue treatment with ENTEROSGEL if you have no bowel movements for 1-2 days; increase your water intake and resume treatment after the next bowel movement.
