Active ingredients
1 ml of solution contains the active substance: permethrin (cis:trans 40:60) equal to 715 mg (corresponding to 65% w/w). Excipients: Propylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether (Dowanol) qs to 1 ml. For the full list of excipients, see section 6.1.

Directions
Exspot is indicated for the treatment of ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor variabilis, Amblyomma americanum), sand flies (Phlebotomus perniciosus, Lutzomya cruzi, L. corumbaensis), mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti, A. taeniorhynchus), flies (Stomoxys calcitrans and Musca domestica), fleas (Ctenocephalides felis and C. canis) and lice in dogs. Regular use of Exspot at monthly intervals eliminates ticks, sand flies, mosquitoes, flies, fleas and lice and provides protection against reinfestation for up to 4 weeks. Exspot reduces the risk of infection with Leishmania infantum through transmission by sand flies (Phlebotomus spp. and Lutzomya spp.) for 4 weeks. The effect is indirect due to the activity of the product against the vector. Exspot can be part of a prevention program against Leishmania infantum infection.

Dosage
For use as a spot-on only. Open the sachet and remove the pipette. For easier application, the animal must be kept standing. With one hand, hold the pipette in a vertical position, away from the face and break the upper end of the pipette to open it, bending it and folding it back on itself. Part the fur until the skin is visible and place the tip of the pipette directly on the dog's skin, applying the product according to the following instructions. a) Dogs weighing between 2.5 kg and 14 kg: 1 pipette of 1 ml, equal to a maximum dose of permethrin of 286 mg/kg (dogs of 2.5 kg) and a minimum of 51 mg/kg (dogs of 14 kg). Squeeze the pipette firmly until its entire contents are emptied directly onto the skin of the back, in the area delimited by the two shoulder blades, taking care that the product does not drip onto the fur. b) Dogs weighing between 15 and 29 kg: 2 pipettes of 1 ml, equivalent to a maximum permethrin dose of 95.3 mg/kg (15 kg dogs) and a minimum of 49.3 mg/kg (29 kg dogs), or, alternatively, 1 pipette of 2 ml. Squeeze the pipettes firmly until the entire contents are emptied directly onto the skin of the back. Apply the contents of the individual pipettes to two different points along the dorsal line, one between the two shoulder blades and the other on the rump region, at the base of the tail, taking care that the product does not drip onto the fur. c) Dogs weighing between 30 and 40 kg: 3 pipettes of 1 ml, equivalent to a maximum permethrin dose of 71.5 mg/kg (30 kg dogs) and a minimum of 53.6 mg/kg (40 kg dogs). Squeeze the pipettes firmly until the entire contents are emptied directly onto the skin of the back. Apply the contents of the individual pipettes at three different points along the dorsal line, starting from the region delimited by the two shoulder blades up to the rump region, at the base of the tail, taking care that the product does not drip onto the fur. d) Dogs weighing more than 41 kg up to 55 kg: 2 pipettes of 2 ml, equal to a maximum permethrin dose of 69.7 mg/kg (41 kg dogs) and a minimum of 52 mg/kg (55 kg dogs). Squeeze the pipettes firmly until the entire contents are emptied directly onto the skin of the back. Apply the contents of the individual pipettes at four different points along the dorsal line, starting from the region delimited by the two shoulder blades up to the rump region, at the base of the tail, taking care that the product does not drip onto the fur. Dosage by weight group. Dog weight: 2.5 - 14 kg. Number of 1 ml pipettes: 1; total volume to be administered: 1 ml. Dog weight: 15 - 29 kg. Number of 1 ml pipettes: 2 or 1; total volume to be administered: 2 ml. Dog weight: 30 - 40 kg. Number of 1 ml pipettes: 3; total volume to be administered: 3 ml. Dog weight: 41 - 55 kg. Number of 2 ml pipettes: 2; total volume to be administered: 4 ml. The interval between treatments will depend on the severity of the infestation and the parasite. Regular use of Exspot, at monthly intervals, kills ticks, sandflies, mosquitoes, flies, fleas and lice and provides protection for up to 4 weeks against reinfestation. The use of non-medicated shampoos before applying Exspot does not negatively affect the efficacy of the product. If the dog is subjected to bathing and sponging, the protection period is reduced, depending on the quantity of water that has come into contact with the skin. Exspot can be applied at intervals of no less than 2 weeks, without causing side effects or symptoms of intoxication. To reduce reinfestations, it is recommended to treat all dogs in the home and all pets living in the same environment with a suitable product. It is also recommended to use an appropriate environmental treatment against adult fleas and their developing stages (immature forms).

Conservation
Protect from light. Store below 25 degrees C. 1 ml pipettes - shelf life of the veterinary medicinal product as packaged for sale: 48 months. 2 ml pipettes - shelf life of the veterinary medicinal product as packaged for sale: 36 months.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Do not use on lactating bitches. On pregnant bitches use only in accordance with the risk/benefit assessment by the responsible veterinarian.
