Warnings and precautions
In pregnant women and in early childhood, the product should be administered in cases of actual need and under the direct supervision of a doctor.
If there is no response within two days of starting administration, discontinue treatment due to possible colonization of bacterial or fungal strains (especially Candida) resistant to tyrothricin. The use, especially if prolonged, of topical products may give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case, therapy must be discontinued and appropriate therapy instituted.
Similar behaviour must be observed in the event of the development of non-sensitive microorganisms.
Keep this medicine out of the reach and sight of children.
For those who practice sports, the use of medicines containing ethyl alcohol may result in positive doping tests in relation to the alcohol concentration limits indicated by some sports federations.
Possible side effects
With the use of tyrothricin, blackening of the tongue, rarely glossitis and sensitization reactions have been reported, which, however, regress with the interruption of treatment. More relevant may be the symptoms of sensitization of anaesthetics, even of muscular disorders, convulsions.
The patient is advised to report to his/her doctor or pharmacist any side effects other than those listed above.
