All pharmaceutical forms of Ifenec are indicated for cutaneous use only.
In early childhood the product should be administered in cases of actual need, under the direct supervision of a doctor.
Ifenec is not indicated for ophthalmic or oral use.
Medicinal products for cutaneous use, especially if used for prolonged treatments, may give rise to sensitization phenomena. If this occurs, it is necessary to interrupt the treatment and institute appropriate therapy. Patients sensitive to imidazoles may be sensitive to econazole nitrate.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Ifenec can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Common (occurs in 1 in 10 patients): itching, burning sensation of the skin.
Uncommon (occurs in 1 in 100 patients): erythema, malaise and swelling.
Frequency not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data): pain, angioedema, contact dermatitis, rash, urticaria, vesiculation, skin exfoliation and hypersensitivity.
The use of medicines for skin use, especially if prolonged, can give rise to sensitization phenomena, if this occurs, suspend the treatment and consult a doctor. In case of particularly intense local reactions, it is necessary to suspend the treatment and consult a doctor.
In very rare cases, local irritation in eczematous areas is possible: in such situations, precede therapy with Ifenec with an anti-eczematous treatment for a few days.
Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
