What it is and what it is used for
MICOTEF skin cream is an antifungal for dermatological use. It is used for the treatment of skin and nail infections caused by dermatophytes and Candida. Due to its antibacterial activity on gram-positive bacteria, MICOTEF skin cream can be used for the treatment of mycoses with superinfections caused by these microorganisms.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use MICOTEF skin cream:
If you are allergic to the active substance or other similar antifungal medicines or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Warnings and precautions
Preparations for local use, especially if used for prolonged treatments, may give rise to sensitization phenomena. If this occurs, it is necessary to interrupt the treatment and institute appropriate therapy.
Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after each application, unless the treatment involves the same hands. It is advisable to apply the following hygienic measures to avoid sources of infection or reinfection:
• keep towels and underwear for personal use in order to avoid infecting other people;
• regularly change clothes that come into contact with the infected area to avoid reinfection;
• disinfection of socks and shoes. MICOTEF skin cream does not stain the skin or clothing
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, MICOTEF skin cream can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Use of the product, especially if prolonged, may give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case, it is necessary to interrupt treatment and institute appropriate therapy. Compliance with the instructions contained in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects. This medicine contains methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, propyl p-hydroxybenzoate as excipients, therefore it may cause allergic reactions (even delayed).
Reporting of side effects
