Description
Medical device for ocular and periocular use based on distilled waters of echinacea and euphrasia at physiological pH and osmology.
Sterile saline solution, at physiological pH, for ocular and periocular use.
Valid aid for the removal of periocular and ocular secretions of newborns from the first days of life, of infants and children (therefore from 0 to 6 years of age). The product can also be used by children over 6 years of age, adolescents, adults and elderly people (i.e. over 65 years of age).
Instillation of OCIO softens and washes away secretions present on the ocular surface, in the conjunctival fornix and in the eyelid margin.
OCIO has a diluting, decongestant and hydrating action to increase the volume of tears.
OCIO contains distilled waters of eyebright and echinacea which contribute to the humectant effect thanks to their hydrating action.
OCIO is compatible with soft contact lenses.

How to use
1. Clean your hands thoroughly.
2. Hold the bottle so that the finger you use for dispensing (index finger or thumb) is well positioned on the dispenser and does not cover the spray hole.
3. Hold the bottle upright and press firmly on the dispenser to spray the solution.
4. In case of direct administration into the eye, spray the product at a distance of approximately 10 cm from the eye.
5. When using for the first time, spray a few times without any spray until the product sprays evenly.
6. In case of storage at temperatures below 15°C, if the product is intended for use on children, hold the bottle in your hands for a few minutes to bring the product to room temperature to avoid the child feeling an unpleasant sensation of cold.
Use the product as follows:
- to rinse the area around the eyes instead of conventional moistened or soaked wipes: spray 1 or 2 sprays of solution onto a sterile gauze and use it to immediately and gently clean the area around the eyes, eliminating any secretions. Avoid rubbing vigorously but soften the dried secretions with the soaked gauze until they can be removed. Use a different gauze for each eye;
- for rinsing the eye: spray 1 or 2 sprays of product in each eye, open or closed:
a. when spraying with the eye open, the blinking resulting from the increase in the volume of the tear fluid allows the product to wash the surface of the eye, removing foreign particles together with the excess fluid;
b. by nebulizing with the eye closed, the liquid that remains trapped in the eyelid rim, thanks to the blinking, comes into contact with the ocular surface, increasing the volume of the tear fluid and thus allowing the product to wash the surface of the eye, removing foreign particles together with the excess liquid;
- to relieve sensations of discomfort or redness: spray 1 or 2 sprays of product in each eye.

Components
Sodium chloride (0.82%), vitamin E TPGS, distilled water of Echinacea pallida, distilled water of eyebright, zinc sulphate heptahydrate, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate tribasic dihydrate, water for injections.

Warnings
Keep out of reach of children.
The product is for ophthalmic or periocular use only.
The product is for single-patient use.
The contents of the spray bottle are suitable for use by one person only.
Do not use the product if the bottle is not perfectly closed and/or intact.
Do not tamper with or damage the bottle and its mechanisms.
Before using the product, it is advisable to thoroughly clean your hands.
During use, do not touch your eye or any other surface with the spray surface of the dispenser.
Do not use the product in case of known incompatibility with even just one component of the formulation.
No interactions with drugs or other eye drops are reported, in any case, wait at least 15 minutes before administering any other eye drops.
If you experience any discomfort during use, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.
OCIO does not replace any pharmacological therapy prescribed by your doctor.
The administration of ophthalmic drugs at the same time as the product must be carried out under the supervision of a doctor who can evaluate the possible interactions and should be carried out at least 15 minutes after nebulization of the product.
Do not use the product after the expiry date indicated on the package.
For external use, do not ingest.
Do not dispose of the container in the environment after use.
Dispose of the product according to local waste management regulations.
Consult your doctor before using if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Conservation
Store at a temperature between 2°C and 30°C in a dry place, away from heat, avoiding direct exposure to sunlight.
Validity after opening: 3 months.
