Active ingredients
Each medicated poultice contains 10% methyl salicylate (105 mg) and 3% levomenthol (31.5 mg). For a list of excipients, see section 6.1.
Therapeutic indications
Symptomatic treatment of muscle and joint pain associated with muscle strains and sprains.
Dosage
Apply one patch to the affected area and leave it in place for a maximum of 8-12 hours. If the pain returns 8-12 hours after applying the first patch, a second patch may be applied. Use only one patch at a time. Do not use more than 2 patches per day. Do not use for more than 3 consecutive days. Paediatric population The use of Salonpas Flessibile is not recommended in children and adolescents under 18 years of age as there is insufficient data on its safety and efficacy.
Conservation
Store below 25°C in the original package to protect from light. Each time you remove a patch from the package, carefully reseal the open side of the sachet to protect the remaining patches.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Pregnancy During the first and second trimester: The safety of Salonpas Flessibile in pregnant women has not been established. Therefore, the use of Salonpas Flessibile should be avoided during the first and second trimester of pregnancy. During the third trimester: Salonpas Flessibile is contraindicated during the last trimester of pregnancy (see section 4.3). Breastfeeding It is not known whether cutaneous administration of methyl salicylate could result in sufficient systemic absorption to reveal detectable quantities of methyl salicylate in breast milk. A decision must be made whether to continue/discontinue breastfeeding or to continue/discontinue therapy with Salonpas Flessibile taking into account the benefit of breastfeeding for the child and the benefit of Salonpas Flessibile therapy for the woman. Fertility There are no reports on the effects of Salonpas Flessibile on fertility. However, since the use of methyl salicylate may impair female fertility, the use of the product is not recommended in women attempting to conceive.
