How to use
Turn the device on by pressing the ON/OFF button. All notification symbols appear briefly and the device beeps, followed by the last temperature reading.
If the temperature is below 32°C (90°F), the LCD display will show “Lo”, if the temperature is above 42.9°C (109.9°F), the LCD display will show “Hi”.
The thermometer is now ready for use.
You can measure body temperature in both Celsius and Fahrenheit. Proceed as follows:
1. The appliance must be turned off.
2. Press and hold the ON/OFF button for approximately 4 seconds to change the unit of measurement.
3. The corresponding set unit of measurement (°C or -%) appears in the top right corner of the display.
Place the sensor tip under your tongue, armpit, or anus:
- ORAL MEASUREMENT: Place the thermometer with the sensor tip under your tongue and close your mouth. Breathe through your nose during the measurement and avoid distorting the readings.
- RECTAL MEASUREMENT: Rectal measurement, while uncomfortable for many patients, provides accurate results. For a quick and reliable body temperature measurement, carefully insert the sensor tip about 1 cm into the rectum.
- UNDERARM MEASUREMENT: Before taking a measurement, clean your armpit. Place the thermometer with the sensor tip in your armpit. Lower your arm and press it lightly against your body during the measurement.
The thermometer starts measuring automatically. During measurement, the "°" symbol flashes continuously. Once the measurement is complete, the device beeps for about 10 seconds and the measured value appears on the display.
By extending the measuring time beyond the acoustic signal, even more accurate measurement values will be obtained.
If using the thermometer under the armpit, wait at least 10 minutes as this measurement method is the most inaccurate.
If a temperature above 37.8°C (100°F) is measured, the device emits a fever alarm tone (short beeps).
The thermometer automatically turns off 10 minutes after taking a measurement. To extend battery life, however, we recommend turning the thermometer off after taking a reading by pressing the ON/OFF button.
Cleaning and maintenance :
The thermometer is waterproof and therefore easy to clean and disinfect. Wipe the thermometer before and after each measurement with a cloth soaked in a mild alcohol solution. You can also immerse the thermometer in a suitable disinfectant solution.
Warnings
The thermometer must not be boiled.
The thermometer must be cleaned before and after each use with disinfectant.
Keep away from heat sources.
Keep out of reach of children.
The thermometer is only suitable for measuring body temperature.
Protect the thermometer from falls and impacts.
The thermometer goes into error after about 15 seconds if it does not detect any temperature, or if the temperature is outside the measuring range.
