Cleaning and disinfection
The probe and thermometer can be cleaned with a cotton cloth lightly moistened with alcohol (70% isopropyl alcohol). Make sure no liquid enters the thermometer. Never use abrasive substances such as solvents or immerse the thermometer in liquids. Do not scratch the thermometer's surface or probe.
Warnings
Follow the instructions for use: read them carefully and keep them. Use the device as described in the user manual. Never immerse this device in water or other liquids. For cleaning, follow the instructions in the Cleaning and Disinfection section of the manual. Do not use the device if you believe it is damaged or if you notice anything unusual. Never open the device.
A physiological condition called vasoconstriction can occur in the early stages of fever, causing a so-called "cold skin" effect. The temperature measured on the forehead during this phase may be unusually low. If the measured temperature does not reflect the patient's condition or is unusually low, repeat the measurements every 15 minutes or compare the results with another measuring device. This device is constructed with delicate components and must be handled with care. Observe the storage and operating conditions described in the "Technical Specifications" chapter. Ensure that children do not use the device without adult supervision; some parts are small and could be swallowed. Do not use the device near strong electromagnetic fields such as cell phones or radio installations. Maintain a minimum distance of 3.3 m from other devices when using this device.
Protect the device from: extreme temperatures; impacts and drops; contamination and dust; direct sunlight; heat and cold. Remove the batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period. The measurement obtained with this device is not a diagnosis. It does not replace a consultation with your doctor, especially if the result does not match your symptoms. Do not rely on the measurement alone; always consider other symptoms that may occur and the patient's general condition. If necessary, call a doctor or an ambulance.
Before measurement, patients and the thermometer should remain in the same environment and under the same conditions for at least 30 minutes. Do not measure body temperature during or immediately after breastfeeding. Do not use the thermometer in a very humid environment. The patient should not drink, eat, or exercise before or while taking the temperature. Do not move the thermometer from the measurement area until you hear the beep indicating the end of the measurement. 10 short beeps and the red backlit display will alert the patient if the measured temperature is equal to or higher than 37.5°C: fever alarm. Take the measurement in the same area as the temperature varies depending on the measurement site. Doctors recommend rectal measurement for children aged 0 to 6 months, as all other methods can give unreliable results. When using this thermometer on children aged 0 to 6 months, we recommend always also taking a rectal measurement.
In the following situations, it is recommended to take at least three readings, taking the highest as a reference:
1. children under 3 years of age and with immune system problems where the presence or absence of fever is a critical element;
2. when the user is learning or does not yet have sufficient experience in using this thermometer or has doubts about the measurements taken;
3. when measurements are deemed too low.
Body temperature measurements from different areas of the body cannot be compared because body temperature varies depending on the location and time of day. Temperature is highest in the evening and lowest about an hour before waking.
Conservation
Store at temperatures between -20°C and +50°C, with 15-95% maximum relative humidity.
