It's well known that to enjoy good health, it's necessary to observe certain rules, such as proper nutrition, a balanced lifestyle, and regular physical exercise. However, maintaining a constant acid-base balance throughout the body is essential for overall well-being. Consistent pH values (acid-base balance) of all body fluids are essential for the proper functioning of cellular enzymatic systems and, therefore, for a state of well-being. pH measures the acidity or alkalinity of a liquid; the acid-alkaline scale ranges from 0 (extremely acidic) to 14 (extremely alkaline), with 7 being neutral. All body fluids, with the exception of the stomach (acidic pH between 2 and 3.5), are alkaline; human blood is slightly alkaline, between 7.30 and 7.45, and our bodies must maintain this pH to support life and health. Since the waste products of cellular metabolism are largely acidic and therefore tend to lower the pH of body fluids, the body implements various physiological regulatory mechanisms that allow it to limit variations in pH, even if at the expense of our body's alkaline reserves.
When, despite all physiological precautions, the amount of acidic metabolic waste exceeds what our body is able to eliminate, a state of acidosis arises.
How to use
