Zymerex Macrogol 4000 Rule
Macrogol is a high molecular weight, water-soluble inert polymer that has the ability to bind to the water used for intake, retaining it in the feces. It determines a rehydration and softening of the fecal mass and facilitates its evacuation. It accelerates intestinal transit by promoting peristalsis. It is not absorbed or metabolized in the gastrointestinal tract and does not lead to hydro-electrolytic imbalances, if taken with the indicated dose of liquid.
Directions:
Symptomatic treatment of constipation. It promotes peristalsis, helping to have an adequate intestinal evacuation, thus counteracting constipation and preventing the formation of fecalomas.
How to use:
Use the measuring cup contained in the package to measure the oral solution: fill it according to the dosage indicated below, using the references provided by the notches on the surface of the measuring cup (first notch 5 ml, second notch 10 ml, third notch 15 ml and fourth notch 20 ml).
Adults and children over 12 years of age:
- from 20 ml to 80 ml per day.
Children aged 6 months to 12 years:
- from 6–10 Kg: 10 ml per day;
- from 10–15 Kg: from 10 ml to 20 ml per day;
- from 16–20 Kg: from 20 ml to 30 ml per day;
- 21–43 kg: 30 ml to 40 ml per day.
The dose should be increased or decreased, depending on the individual response to treatment, to allow regular evacuation of soft stools. The maximum dose required does not normally exceed 40 ml per day for children aged between 6 months and 12 years and 80 ml per day for adults and children over 12 years. The oral solution should be taken as is. Immediately after taking the product, it is necessary to drink approximately 60 ml of water for every 10 ml of solution taken. It is recommended to administer the product in the morning if the minimum dose is to be taken (10 ml per day for children under 12 years and 20 ml per day for adults and children over 12 years). For larger doses, divide the intake between morning and evening.
If you do not notice any improvement after 7 days of treatment, it is advisable to consult your doctor.
